Went to go see the Eclipse but ended up just seeing a big black dot in the sky....
 No ISS, I shot before and after. I need a new camera.

The fires and smoke were intense in Oregon, the smoke reached all the way into space.
On the ancient 40D which I set up just for the corona, big difference in quality of the images between a 7D+2xiii+100-400ii and 40D+1.4xii+300/4is. Then again, the 7D was tripod mounted with IS on.

Kevin, your shot of the flares is about as good as I've seen.
The corona is a bitch. I'll try stacking some together this weekend, to try to get the full range of the corona.

I pretty much got what I wished for as far as pictures and the quality. So worried about the fires as we were on the edge of the smoke/cloud bank.
Thank you for the complements. Either Mazaltan on the beach or Texas in 24 if I go.

We'll have totality here, but the weather here in April can be very iffy. I'm also thinking about Texas. Our local airport has direct flights to Dallas and even driving to Dallas is doable in a day.

The good news is that you don't need to retire an arsenal of Canon lenses. I'm keeping the 5D MkIV and 5DS-R around for a while, to see what I grab for what. The a9 won the birding competition, thanks to Metabones.
