This card was off the hook O_O!!! I'm just gonna do some quickie comments before I crash.
If Big Nog kept it a ground and pound fight, I seriously think he could have won it but the fact that he forced it into a grappling bout was just a bad move. KoreanZombie....... O_O!!!! Damn, there was moments when everyone thought Machida could have done it. Little glimmers of hope. Just like Big Nog, he wouldn't tap. Those 2 guys seriously got balls. Anderson Silva with a serious shoulder injury and fighting jones immediately, fuck no. He needs two fight either sonnen or munoz. THEN he can have a superfight. But tbh, it really is a bit of a mismatch if a superfight happens in 2013 and beyond. Silva's getting old, Jones isn't even at his prime yet. Different era and timing. It would be a great fight but by that time, it'll be too mismatched. Little Nog looked good, glad he's back in the mix. |

I was reading some of the threads on sherdog for entertainment, funny how they're giving Bones shit for "dropping" Machida after Big John called the fight.
I mean, fuck, he's unconscious, you're standing up, the fight's stopped, and you let go. Obviously he's going to fall, aka drop, since he's a dead fish. Not like Bones slammed him down then head stomped him. Those fuckers on there are all Einsteins.

I think the only person who can stop Jones is Silva, even then I think if it goes to the ground it's hard to stop those elbows. I think Silva could finish him with a couple quick punches though. Great card. The Homminick KO was crazy. |

I couldnt believe Mir survived and when he got that kimura I knew big Nog was in trouble as he is known not to tap, while Mir is known to break your shit if you dont
I really thought Machida has a chance after the 1st round, he was tagging Jones, Jones looked really uncomfortable, he's stand up as flashy as it can be, still leaves a lot of holes open. He wouldnt really stand a chance against a healthy Anderson, IMO. But Jones showed how dangerous he is if he takes you down. I also thought he could have let Machida down a little easier but I dont think he knew how out he was, maybe he thought he would just drop to his knees, I really doubt he did that on purpose Felt bad for Hominick, he got caught pretty bad |

I watched some of the fights again tonight. Epic card.
The Mirr submission is very reminiscent of UFC 74 where Mirr submitted Antoni Hardonk in exactly the same way. It was just brutal! I think Machida did really well, he got caught a couple times, I'm not sure how much damage he can take. I think Anderson Silva on his best day could tag Jones a few times before he could implement his game plan. He has that one shot KO power. Otherwise, if Jones gets you to the ground it's game over, those elbows are just deadly! |

Feel so bad for Mark. I know some ppl think he was being a douche with the quick punch after the touched gloves but lets face it, everyone knew he, just like shields, wasn't ready to comeback so quickly. True that a 100% healthy silva could keep the fight standing and finish jones with punches but what if jones goes in for a takedown and gets into a quick greco-roman wrestling position? silva will fall and if jones is on top, elbows will fly. plus jones has a good reach advantage against the spider. it would be a great matchup and depending on how that would go, one would totally demolish the other. fyi, greg jackson, ur are a fool lol. if u don't know what i'm talking about, here it is: http://www.mmafighting.com/2011/12/1...-thing-to-say/ |

yea, i thought his explanation was total BS. I dont know why they arent honest w/ people, the fact is most people dont like Jones cause he is inconsistent w/ his actions vs what he says. One minute he is saying how humble he is and how much respect he has for the sport, the next minute he is talking shit about Rashad like they were in middle school
I personally dont get caught up w/ anyone that, the only thing I care about is how he does in the cage and he has shown to be a destroyer, it hurts me to say it cause Anderson is my fav fighter but Jones will most likely be the best ever when its all said and done |

I saw that video of Greg Jackson as well. Not cool at all.
The next season of TUF will be epic! Surely the winner will get a title shot after Munoz v Sonnen. |

I don't think Lesnar vs Overeem is going to be as great as most people expect it to be. I don't think it will be stand and bang... but I sure hope it is.

Yes I know. I feel that Lesnar v Overeem is a bigger fight because the winner gets a guaranteed title shot. Plus these 2 guys are massive. I remember Lesnar v Carwin was epic, this should deliver too. Either way, I doubt this fight will go the distance. Someone will get KO'd or sub'd for sure.
Nate v Cerrone has the ingredients for a great fight but I don't think it has as much of an impact on the overall division so there's not as much hype behind it. |
