ynguldyn Just a quick question regarding the M2 CS which is supposed to be available in early 2018.In the upcoming model list you said the M2 CS is going to be a MY19 when it is released.Is the regular M2 also going to change to the MY19 model year when the M2 CS is released?

You have to remember that it is the 116 - 120 that makes up the sales. The rest are just bonus models for the buyers. They higher end models will all be hybrid cars soon anyway as big engines are punished hard with taxes in big parts of the world.

I believe its fate is now in the hands of NA marketing/product people. The car is there, a whole bunch of prototypes is there, but then there's nothing after that. This could be a repeat of the US F31 and F34 RWD story - they were canceled at exactly this stage.

Yeah, we'll see. I've mentioned a few times that it doesn't feel like the right climate for BMW to be introducing more diesel passenger cars in the US. They've made it clear that their longterm strategy is eDrive and this seems to be the better bet. In many areas of the world governments are putting a lot of effort behind weening people off of diesel and into PHEVs.

Shadow package is actually nothing special as BMW always makes some exclusive package at the end of lifetime. But as I know there never was interior upgrade with new dashboard. So my question is: Can you tell us anything about end of production for f20? Is it July 2019 or might be later date? For us Europeans that information would be very useful as 1 series is one of the most popular BMW models.. Affordable, fun and unique. Thanks |

No Self-Certification/Compliance/Conformity allowed by EPA on Light Duty Diesel Vehicles anymore. Until the EPA grants approval, diesel variants won't appear in the series' order guides.

It contains a request to re-insert in the Compendium of Candidates Listing Number 11 ? United States of America Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Transportation programmes for Light-duty vehicle greenhouse gas emission standards and Corporate Average Fuel Economy Standards. Listing Number 11 was removed in 2016, at its expiry date, due to the lack of request to be re-affirmed in the Compendium. This request shall be voted in accordance to Article 7 of Annex B to the 1998 Agreement. 1. Reference is made in this respect to Article 5. paragraph 5.3.2. of the 1998 Agreement, which reads as follows: "5.3.2. at the end of the 5-year period following the regulation?s listing under this Article, and at the end of each subsequent 5 year period, unless the Executive Committee reaffirms, by an affirmative vote in accordance with paragraph 7.1. of Article 7 of Annex B, the listing of the technical regulation in the Compendium of Candidates" 3. The voting shall follow the procedure of Article 7 of Annex B to the Agreement, which reads as follows: "7.1. A national or regional regulation shall be listed in the Compendium of Candidates by an affirmative vote of either at least one-third of the total number of votes cast, whichever is more favourable to achieving an affirmative vote. In either case, the one-third shall include the vote of either the European Union, Japan or the United States of America, if any of them are Contracting Parties." |

Well, your original reply was very general. I believe you are now saying, based on the date I see in the legalese you've posted, that there are some *brand new* regulatory factors at play now. Ok, fair enough. Though I am certainly not a lawyer, I can see how that may be the case. That being said it will be interesting to see if others who are about to launch diesels in the US - I believe Chevrolet, Mazda, and Jaguar all have new light duty models coming next quarter - will see similar challenges. And the F150 diesel is scheduled for early 2018 too, so there's another one to watch.
