Is there any information about a battery update for the hybrid 740?
I heard that a more powerful battery and using less trunk space should be coming... perhaps for the LCI 2019? |

I'd be more interested in the 2 series replacement. UKL or CLAR, FWD or RWD? |

As discussed a few months ago, it sounds like RWD given the G42/G43 chassis codes. Nothing is absolutely guaranteed at this point, of course. The F22/F23/F87 LCI is just going into production next month, so it may be a bit yet before we see any next generation mules.

M5 Plans
I'd love to know what they have planned for the M5 down the road. Also about the warrantee issues they seem to be having.. Lots of people getting flagged at the dealer for simple things like different tire/wheel sizes etc.

The i3 news in July update is very good, but I wish they waited with facelift update until the battery upgrade is available. Too many versions...

The spec isn't useless because the voltage is known. 360 volts. I'm not an automotive engineer but amp-hour seems like the most appropriate spec to point to when describing the sustained power a battery can provide. This predates EVs.

It's not sustained power or sustained amps, it has always been about stored energy. Amp hours on standard AA batteries make sense since the voktagd is generally known and all manufacturets use the same units so you can easily compare between brands.
When it comes to EV's, different manufacturers use different voltage which means you can't easily compare battery sizes based on Ah. You must compare using a unit that directly tells you max stored energy. That is commonly kWh although the SI unit is J. |

Thanks for the update. I had no idea a 1.2L B38 even existed.
Regarding the B58, wikipedia suggests the 250Kw version is actually called the O0. Is that incorrect? It did seem strange to me that the X3 M40i specs call its new 265Kw version the M0, which is the name the original 240Kw version goes by. I agree it would make more sense if, as you say, all of them are M0 than if only the middle child is O0. Still nothing about a new V8 family, eh? Rumors suggest that the 8 Series will get a 4.0L V8 which would presumably be all new rather than simply an N63 with less displacement. |

EOP for Current Models F22 2er - 10/21 F23 2er - 10/21 So does that mean the current 2 series/M2 will last until 10/21? That would be a long overall generation. |

Probably the S58 which is also slated for the X3M.
