Dropped the bike off saturday for a bit of much needed maintenance. Pick it up at the end of the week after a full service, new fork, dropper and groupset.

My favourite bike has to be the bullet standard 350,best tumb beat, looks classic, old school design, new bikes become old after few years, but old classic bikes are classic, they become more classic years over the years.

Isn't that a motor cycle?

I had a Gary Fisher mountain bike. It was a entry level one but I did a ton of trails and roads on it. Definitely a lot of history in the brand.

Right now I'm enjoying my BMC TeamElite. Carbon fiber frame, 29er hardtail - very different than my old bike from the 90s. I guess it was about time to upgrade after 20 years. lol

Thanks! I'm still getting used to it. The 29er geometry is very different coming from 26" wheels. You sit taller and it doesn't feel as fast to respond on tight switchbacks... but that rollover ability is incredible!

As you guessed, I'm mostly do XC so I usually don't do very technical stuff but lots of grinding up hills and long distances - perfect for a hard tail.

My MTB is 29 also. Apparently Yeti designed the SB4.5 specifically for 29" wheels. I came from 26" wheels and din't even notice it. Riding that bike is how i've always imagined how the perfect bike would feel.

I am curious to tryout a 27.5 set up. Given i'm just getting older, maybe the 29 is the place to be anyway. Not like i'm hitting any sick down hill sections.

I would imagine the BMC is pretty light weight. Do you know what it weighs? It's got to be great on climbs.

I had a BMC road bike and the rear triangle was designed for comfort and man was it. Soaked up all the bumps and vibrations. I feel like BMC is the McLaren of the bike world.

I haven't weighed it but the reviews say it is about 23 lbs. It does suck up bumps good. I did a few rides and climbing is pretty good. I'm kind of out of shape.. I end up grinding on the lowest gear quite a bit but you can feel the bike surge with every pedal.

I tried a 27.5 at a shop before and I was pretty sold on it (closest you can get to 26")... but selection of 27.5 bikes is rather limited with most major manufacturers not having much or anything at all. I didn't want to buy into a dead end standard if 27.5 doesn't take off. I settled on the 29er.

Here's a review of a bike similar to the one I got. Mine is a SLX/XT groupset rather than full XT as this one is.

Rode at a new (to me) place here in FL. Croom Wildlife Area

They have a trail called Drunken Monkey. Was pretty wet, some of the trail sections were closed. But here a some of the 2.5 mile section of Drunken Monkey.

Here is very short section of the same trail.

Yeti fan, here Love their technology and intuition, evolving into the "Ferrari" of the mountain bike world. Best bike(s) I've ever owned were all Yeti's. Great experiences with some others, though.

Just built a custom spec SB6c for my everything bike, got rid of the XC/DH/DJ bike's and consolidated to one rig, for here in the heart of the B.C. Kootenay Rockies.

I am loving mine so far. If i didn't live in FL, i likely would have chosen the 5.5.

SB6 does A LOT of stuff really well. Perfect swiss army bike for B.C.

I can't believe BP didn't alert me of that tag!

Drunken Monkey looks fun! Look foliage as well!

My friend went through a lot of bikes and has settled on Yeti as well. He loves his. I think it is the longest he has ever owned a bike.

Canyon USA is coming...
I wonder how their bikes ride.

I'm betting they ride really well. I almost sprung for their aero road frame.

It was pretty wet and my first time there. Need to find the right lines and build up some speed to take advantage of the flow. It'll be nice not having to avoid the mud in the low spots.

I think Santos is still my favorite. Going to a new spot tomorrow and will have the camera with me. Hope the conditions are good. Not much chance of rain today so hopefully it'll get to dry out a bit.

We have a pretty solid trail network where I live, you can shuttle all day long, or ride from your doorstep, we're pretty lucky! There's some awesome features I've been waiting to hit for some time as I lurked while riding my 4" Stumpy, this bike should eat it all up!

I know you weren't talking to me but youtube Telonics. It's one of the most popular trails that some say may have started it all decades ago.

Short, sweet, steep, flowy, fun, with a little chunk thrown in.

There's the Epic 7 Summits trail, 20 mins from home at the Nancy Greene summit. Then, the Rossland trails,

Whisky
Whisky on the rocks
Super Mega Death (SMD)
Cherry Poppins
Milky Way
KC
Whooptie Doo

Dozens of trails around the Red Mountain Ski resort, mostly flowy fast single track stuff. Should start running summer time chair lifts again, next year when they finish building the new Hotel. Should be another smaller scale Whistler/Silverstar by the end of their project.
I could go on and on... But those are my regulars with the exception of 7 summits, of which I'm building my endurance to conquer! Still got some big city weight to shed off before I'm where I need to be for that one

$20 Joby smart phone gorilla pod and an iPhone. Was a fun solo morning. 2nd ever ride with flat pedals. Learning proper technique pretty quickly by using them.

Even caught a glimpse of a rare bike species, the offload unicyclist. lol
