Lol 5 year old data? much like the Iphone user experience.
I am neither uneducated, nor any other qualifier you listed, and my household income is above $125k a couple times. I've had Iphones from work - I still prefer Android. It's a personal thing. Quote:

I have read their statements on why they need to do battery management on the iPhone and what happened with the iPhone 6s, but I'm not buying it. All Lithium Ion batteries have problems in this area and Apple can, and should, design around this. For starters, you have peak load issues due to the unique way smartphone CPUs are setup. You'll usually have multiple CPUs with various core counts on them to allow the phone to offer good battery life in tasks that aren't very taxing, like maybe polling your email server for updates, by using the "low performance cores" and firing up the "high performance" cores when demanding tasks are executed. Activating these cores has a high initial performance hit since they were previously shutoff. Apple's power management subsystem should be designed to handle this short peak power request by either querying the battery before activation of CPU cores or by querying the battery when plugged in. Basically, they should be ensuring their power system is learning from the battery and adapting to its age over time. Similar to how BMW wants you to re-program your new battery to your car so it can erase the leaning it has completed over the old battery lifetime. Apple designed a flawed power management subsystem and resorted to software fixes to save money from a full recall. Quote:

Car play is the bomb in the m340. It doesn't require any wires. Bluetooth and wireless. #winning

I skimmed the thread real quick to make sure this wasn't a repost and didn't see anything..
I was just reading 9 to 5 Google and noticed that they may have accidentally leaked a picture showing Android Auto running on what looks like a 5 series. Here is a link to the article: https://9to5google.com/2020/01/11/an...p-visiblezone/ And here is the picture uploaded to the forums in case they fix it.. Note that the picture name when downloaded from the blog is "android_auto_bmw_1.jpg"

So.... Does anyone have any idea how many iDrive 6 owners are out there? There must be many, many Android users who are feeling very "left in the cold" with the status of BMW's implementation of Android Auto for iDrive 7 onwards only.
Does anyone think it's likely (or possible?) that BMW would issue an update to iDrive 6 to allow support for AA in some form? |

I would like to see this for iDrive5/6 since that aligns with the hardware changes for wireless CarPlay. They should not forget us early adopters and hell no should they expect us to buy a new car to get it. Be like Tesla and give us these as software updates, please!

Has anyone received the remote update on their iDrive 7 vehicles for AA yet?

So I don't think you'll get Android Auto via OTA update until fall earliest, but otherwise from July if you convince your dealer to update your car software level. |

Interesting. So they confirmed it is coming to existing iDrive 7 cars via RSU.
Now let us hope MY2020 G30 will get RSU. |

Finally, shame though it won't be a downloadable feature...
