Completely agree with you about G80/82, after all times I've seen this grill, I still think wtf were they thinking with those kidneys.... And I think I could also live with the frontlights, not that bad, but what I've seen so far from the rears, this could be a „no-go" for me, but tastes are different And yes, Porsche is doing a good job there, but as you say, BMW seems to go an other direction here, compensating the weight with power, sadly... Otherwise, my BMW interest is basicslly same as yours, I love my M2 and after seeing all the leaks / new releases, the only car I'm waiting to see is the next M2, everything else is not my taste anymore unfortunately...and if same happens with the next M2...I finally will switch to an 718 GT4 (You already did a move to P as I see ) |

For me, it is not a Porsche or BMW. My M2C and 718 CGTS are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT cars. If they were not, I would not own both. I do not want BMW to build a Porsche sport car. I just want BMW to build what we all came to love with their sporty sedans/coupes. The G87 M2/M2C might be the end of the road when it comes to my BMW interests . . . if not the F87? We shall see. ///AVM |

I will await the G87 before drawing similar conclusion. That said, it's not about the country of origin, rather, the product that will dictate my remaining interest in BMW offerings. ///AVM |

If they went the direction of the CSL concept car, it would be awesome.

Yep, the headlight and taillight looks so uninspiring, I'm going to miss the signature corona rings, lower-case L-shaped taillights and code-able rear fog lights for the tailgaters (eliminated on G-models).. I'm already at the 'acceptance stage' that the next M2 will be assembled in Mexico. So unless I rob a bank and get me a TT Porsche, the G87 will be the only segment of vehicles with a manual transmission option, so it's what it is.. |

That gets to the heart of the matter when it comes to BMW these days. . . change for the sake of change is their modus operandi. The words 'iconic' and 'signature' and 'enthusiast' mean nothing to the suits sitting in the current BMW boardroom. It's as though they are trying to destroy the entire BMW identity. . . and they are succeeding. ///AVM |

G22 is still the most horrid BMW design of the 21st century, on par with that god-awful Pontiac Aztec looking 5 series abomination they use to make.

M2C is the only car I will re-consider to buy for fun.
If they mess up the M2C then I'm done with BMW. X5 is also a great family car, but of course it doesn't come close to the feel of a M2C. (It's a different beast).
