As promised

After some contemplation, I went ahead and ordered the rear and front splitters to have a fully matching set. The front splitter is an unnecessary purchase, but I do love the amount of optical lowering it gives. It’ll take a month or so for delivery, but will post photos once installed

The matte hub caps arrived!

Not sure which I like more, these or the glossy ones (posted earlier in this thread)

I think my vote is for the glossy ones too. Matches better with the satin finish of the rims

Original logos/emblems looks better, why would you want a huge black dot?

I think blacked out emblems does not suit bmw.

It only matter if it looks good to the person putting them on. Life is too short... I say do whatever makes you happy!

As long as it's not this.... because the reflection will probably annoy other drivers:

🤣🤣🤣🤣 this reminds me of the jeweled bmw key cover and door pins. Just as bad!

And you’re right. It’s a matter of taste! I like the blacked out emblem, but also like the original. It’s just a matter of taking off the blacked out ones and putting them back on whenever I feel like switching. It’s only 3M tape holiding it in place!

Looks better in person and you can see the logo much more clearly IRL because it’s 3D printed and not flat.

But as I mentioned in the post above, both are great and I can easily switch between the two whenever I feel like it. Just a matter of preference. Plus it now matches the silver and black theme going on in the car inside and out.

but that key cover is made Swarovski, one of the most famous Austrian companies in the world!

I don't carry my key fob anymore. otherwise, I'll definitely get that crystal BMW key fob cover!

It’s true! Doesn’t make it any less tacky though hahaha

Not carrying the key fob is one of the most underrated experiences of owning a car

I just remembered you were the one that posted about buying the crystal door pins an other thread 🙈 didn’t mean to shoot you down! But as you said before, as long as you’re happy with it, that’s all that matters!

Yeah i get that its a matter of personal taste, because I also do mods to my cars. But black dot ⚫️, I guess its making it more stealhy?

The 3d effect is nice, i like the other version you posted because you can see the details. Maybe if you painted the white on the roundel it would make it nicer, but thats just me. 😀

this is very nice, not my particular cup of tea, but it is elegant in its own way.

what are the dimensions of the center roundel? trying to find a stick on 50M roundel on etsy but not sure of the size.

i do wonder if this affects any safety aspect from the airbag deploying?

Just curious, when I had my STI back in the day, i swapped a JDM steering wheel for the us model, and was told that the center cap for the airbag deploys differently than what was then allowed by DOT standards. I installed it anyway because I was in my 20's and thought I was invincible.

most of the deployed BMW airbags that I've seen online are like the one in the pic below. (2020 M340i) if the aftermarket center cap has proper adhesive(3M or otherwise) holding it, my guess is that is will probably not fly into the driver's face.

The dimensions for the centre roundel is 45mm, but this universal across all bmw models. That being said, you will find roundel covers that are also 44mm to better sit on top of the original roundel (more flush). Either option will work, but with 44mm, you will need to align the roundel with more precision to avoid the original being seen from one side.

As SpaceSilver.X1 said, this shouldn’t affect airbag deployment as it is attached with 3M tape and should come off during impact. If you’re referring to the possibility of the roundel affecting the mechanism of deployment, this for sure wouldn’t be affected as it is a stick-on rather than a direct replacement.

The matte hub caps are beautiful, but they didn’t match my rims…soooo….i sprayed them with primer and satin top coat!

They still need another 2-3 layers of top coat so don’t judge the finish just yet, but they’re matching quite perfectly now.

Love the all-black steering wheel emblem, but decided to get the silver-black emblem to match the colour of the car and the emblems on the hood and trunk

I’ve seen only a handful of them on the road. Some cars pull them off well, but, personally, I think they look tacky.

not sure if this is relevant to you, but i understand it to be frowned upon and considered faux pas.

On another note, it's your car that you're paying for, you're pleased to do whatever you like to it.
