My wife has a 2018 X3 which has always been an enjoyable drive. Lastly and most importantly, I borrowed my brother's 2020 M235i Gran Coupe from January to June of this year. As some of you may know, this has the same engine (and I assume similar tuning) as well as similar Mini-based front bias AWD drivetrain as the X1 M35 does (but with an auto instead of DCT). Being a bit spoiled with rear-wheel drive 6-cylinder Bimmers in my past, I was not optimistic that I would love it. That said, I fell in love with the car. It feels eager, nimble and fun. I am hopeful that the X1 M35 will bring similar feelings in a larger and more convenient package. Can't wait for mine to arrive as the new daily driver.

Same here! I think the first reviews may end up being found here on the forums when we start to receive them.

My son has a 2023 X1 so I was able to drive that before I ordered mine. I really liked the car. It felt much faster than I was expecting. For reference, I own a 2022 X3 M40i.
On another note, I seem to remember the build tracker having a spot on it for arrival at the US port. It has been quite a bit since I ordered a BMW from Germany, so maybe they did away with it. Of course, I also remember that the tracker was less useful. I think my last car went from being dispatched from the German port to at the dealership, rendering the extra progress notches useless. |

The expectation I have is probably a little more firm than the standard 28i M sport, there are some build differences with the m35i that probably equate to a stiffer ride, my guess is bushings. I cant say i loved the X3, I did really want to get the X3 M40i originally but because i couldnt test drive one, and the sticker price is 10k more, I opted for the m35i because it's going to be a great daily, has some umph when i want it, and it's produced in Germany. |

I know some of the earlier builds were held longer than mine and my week 35 was held almost 2 weeks. Especially seeing the later builds seeming to skate past QC, I would say they were being held there before release was deemed appropriate. In any case, glad to hear they’re moving finally!

Someone earlier in this thread or in another with a 2023 had a similar situation to you, just a few hours in QC. Must be.

Order Date 8/12 and moved to awaiting carrier assignment on 9/13 as well. It flew through actual production - it went into exterior panels being assembled on 9/6 and spent only a day in QC.
Dealer had said end of October initially - hoping might be a little earlier. Seems most of these might be on the same ship crossing the Atlantic. |

Seems based on these specs, not many got the M-Sport Package Pro. I had to specifically ask for it at the dealership as it's not on the online configurator and wasn't on their initial build sheet.
Hoping the M Seats are reasonably comfortable. |

I wasn't willing to sacrifice massaging seats for a useless M light badge under the headrest.

For those at the port, I just spoke to someone on the genius line who told me that it usually sits for 2-6 weeks before anything will happen.
At that time, if you don't see movement on the track in a month, call back for an update. If you see it move backward in status, this usually means it is moving forward (??). Does anyone have thoughts or see anything different? Arrived at port on 9/14 after finishing production on 9/11, going to the east coast US. I assume a few of our will end up on the same ship.

I do think they were holding up all the M35s until they were ready to ship around the same time so they would land at dealers when they said they would at some point in October.
