Question

So what do you guys think?

- Bomb
- Massive lightening strike
- Plan breaking up due to incorrect speed through storm

Planes are supposed to withstand a lightening strike. I'm under the impression that planes get struck by lightening somewhat frequently. If it were a bomb, I don't think any bodies would be found in tact. Even the smallest bomb going off in pressurized plane, would just destroy bodies. I don't know how airspeed impacts the rigidity of a plane in a storm. I guess that would be something to read.

the speculation would be "plane broke up due to incorrect speed through storm"....given the information that the static tube for speed reading might be clogged with ice and taking incorrect reading.....

planes usually will discharge any static back into the atmosphere before any lightening strike....so its very unusual for that to brought down a plane....usually a static discharge will be nothing more than a cracked windshield or something minor....and the plane will divert, land and have the parts replaced....

a bomb is a possibility....but for now...the investigators have not disclose any information about trace of explosion on the flight debris....

I think that bomb is extremely unlikely since no organization has stepped up to claim responsibility.

but how would the plane moving at an incorrect speed lead to a massive mid-air breakup?? Wouldn't the plane just nose-dive and crash land into the ocean; wouldn't something have to take place in order to compromise the structural integrity of the aircraft fuselage??

I don't think it's been determined yet how or when the plane actually broke up.

claiming responsibility is one thing....but you still cannot exclude until you look thru all the debris and check there were no signs of explosion on the fuselage....

reminds me the fake text (SMS) message that claimed to be the final words from a passenger of the Helios 737 crash.....

people nowadays would do anything to catch media attention....since they never bother to verify their source of information....

Well knowing the airspeed is everything about flying particularly if you are flying at night over water. Fly too fast, you can exceed the limits of the airframe, too slow you can stall. And the air speed indicators is the only thing that can give the pilot his relative velocity. Without any visual reference, the pilot won't have a clue to how fast he is going.

Scary shots, but most likely not it.

The tail doesn't look like Air France's, and also if it were flying into a tropical storm, I would think the sky would be a bit darker/drearier than that. I could be wrong though.

fking idiots, I swear.

The plane breaking up in mid-air is a possibility since the speed readings were off.

flying in at say 500mph + then nose dive = sub sonic speeds at which the sheer stress will rip the plane apart

See the shots taken inside the plane before it crashed…
Photos taken from the GOL B 737 aircraft accident in Brazil

The two photos attached above were apparently taken by one of the passengers in the B737, after the collision and before the aircraft crashed. The photos were retrieved from the camera's memory stick. You will never get to see photos like this. In the first photo there is a gaping hole in the fuselage through which you can see the tailplane and vertical fin of the aircraft. In the second photo one of the passengers is being sucked out of the gaping hole.
Photos taken inside the plane.

These photos were found in a digital Casio Z750, amidst the remains in Serra do Cachimbo. Although the camera was destroyed, the Memory Stick was recovered. Investigating the serial number of the camera the owner could be identified, as Paulo G. Muller, an actor of a theatre for children known in the outskirts of Porto Alegre It can be imagined that he was standing during the impact with the Embraer Legacy, and during the turbulence he managed to take these photos, s econds after the tail loss the aircraft plunged, so the camera was found near the cockpit. the structural stress probably ripped the engines away, diminishing the falling speed, protecting the ele ctronic equipment but not, unfortunately, the victims. Paulo Muller leaves behind two daughters, Bruna and Beatriz.

This one's a hoax..
