Always buy at the end of the season...at half the price. Don't skimp and read the reviews on boards. Boots, try the ones with the quick release and pumps for adjustable fit. Bindings, burton cartels are my favorite. If you time it righ, all these could be had for $500 or less.

BTM and his doublewood. Anyhow, I bought these recently. The Balblair is very good, good enough that I'll be purchasing the 1991 offering next. The Bunnahabhain is also good, and may be passable even for those don't like Islay whiskys (Ardbeg, Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Caol Ila, etc). I'll probably buy a bottle of the 18yo when I get around to it.
