I've used both phones, I could easily switch back from android to iphone and so forth. I like certain things on each phone. I think it's fair to say you are an apple fanboy. Why? Because if anyone could be so one sided on a topic such as iOS vs Andriod, you sir are drinking too much of that kool aid. Android is not a pile of shit. If you spend anytime using it with an open mind, you know it's just different from iOS but not a pile of shit. It's like being a BMW fan and thinks Audi is a pile of shit. |

No, it has nothing to do with developing apps. I was giving a reason why Android OS is worse. Devices all have different specs, resolutions, and aspect ratios so the OS has to be generic as well as stay backwards compatible for a long time. This is the same problem Microsoft has had with Windows.

I like the Bionic. I'm not a fan of Moto's locked bootloader, but I don't know if they've changed that lately with the whole corporate merry-go-round that's been going on. I haven't played with a rooted and tweaked one yet, but I'd imagine it's smoking. |

I went away from iPhone and really like my Atrix, but I am thinking of going back for the 4S. Is it an iPhone 5? No, but now it's on a much more level playing field in terms of hardware and has better software to counter Anrdroid devices. |

I think what you are trying to say is that Android is a 335. The HPFP can go out any moment. However, you have numerous modifications you can do on the Android that iOS will never be able to do. EX: SetCPU. The 328--> iOS. Reliable but not much modification you can do. |

Android devices have the added burden of carrier and manufacturer bloatware and restrictions. It's a shame really. However, root and hack away, and they turn into completely different devices.
I would not own a stock Android device, but at the same time I wasn't happy with my iPhones when they weren't jailbroken either. The root on the Android devices makes much more difference though. |

Apple stumble seen opening door for rivals
Reuters) - Rival smartphone makers could exploit a rare letdown by Apple in the launch of its new iPhone 4S model, which failed to wow fans, and grab a bigger share of the most lucrative part of the phone market. However, analysts also noted that Apple's decision to keep older iPhone models and slash their prices, would help the U.S. firm to reach the bigger, mass market, where it will be in more direct competition with phones using Google's Android software. http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/...topNews&rpc=71

The underwhelmingness of the Apple announcements at the Apple conference seem to be having consequences, and this is completely on topic. I know some of you guys would like to just stroke each other about your iPhones, but a discussion concerning the conference also includes ramifications of announcements. Sorry. There is also an iPhone 4S thread around, to go with the eighty billion other iPhone threads. |

I really don't understand why anyone would be disappointed with the 4S and how that would push anyone into an Android who was considering an iPhone. I also don't see how anyone is surprised by this news. All of the speculation I saw was pointing toward a faster processor, better camera, and possibly a new shape or case. We got 2 of 3 and the one that we didn't get will help avoid the annoyance of having to buy new cases, etc. I like the shape of my 4 and think anything thinner than that would increase the likelihood of it flexing and breaking.

you're kinda missing the point why all of us have been bitching ITT. we expected more from apple, and they didn't deliver. they're starting to fall behind, and us that like to keep up with the times are headed over to the side with the best hardware...for now. i use my phone for just about everything but phone calls, so the most up-to-date hardware, big screen, LTE is important to me. since it appears that apple won't be offering us anything like that until next year, i'm going to go drink the android koolaid for a while. i've done it before. i swear no allegiance to mobile devices. i would have stayed iphone loyal if apple didn't just drop a big turd yesterday.
