I was given a Lego set when I was about 7 years old in the mid 1960's. Funny how far they have come. Mine was just blocks - lol. And a few "roof" pieces.

Fun fact: " In 1961, the LEGO Group licensed Samsonite to produce and sell LEGOs in the US and Canada."

You should notice a huge difference in range and false alarms. I did went I went from a 9500ix to R3.

I remember when wheels were introduced! It made making a car that much more fun!

After years of debating I finally made the swap to mirrorless and replaced my decade old Canon 6D MKI with an EOS R6 MKII. I shouldn’t have waited so long! It doesn’t make my photos better, but it makes taking mediocre pic easier!

Here’s my complete lens toolkit and one of the first photos I took while on a test run:

Using an EF to RF adapter? How's that working?

Today is tree day. No one can figure out why the EMC parked electric and fiber boxes at the base of this tree (with both being ran through the roots), so today they get to remove the tree! They’ll leave the tree for me to cleanup. I figure small “price” to pay given they cut the tree at no charge.

In looking at the tree closer today, I also found that it’s already split. Good timing to remove; I bet it would lop during the next storm.

Great so far! No vignetting, full functionality, no f-stop reduction! I was also considering the Sony A7 route but I didn’t want to deal with an adapter or swapping so much glass. These lenses are worth more than one of my cars.

i have few trees in the rear yard that may need to be cut down. I already gave the contractor go ahead to do retaining wall, and new fences around property.
the retaining wall has to be in place before the fence gets installed.

And the aftermath. I didn’t realize they’d were leaving an 8’ stump. May be time to enlist the local mountain people to carve it into Big Foot or a giant middle finger.

Thanks! We really enjoy it out here. Super quiet, no light pollution. Sunsets are killer with the mountain range silhouette. It’s 99% hardwood, so it’s about to really pop with color.

We worried about the neighboring 50 acres that it would be developed. Thankfully a single family picked it up to build their home facing the range. Rest will be stumped for a pasture.

A lot of folks are moving this way. WE FULL!

I was thinking I'd go Sony if I ever went mirrorless. But I'm in the same boat as you. I have around $10k in Canon EF lenses. I'm not about to start over with Sony. I miss my 6D, too.

The reviews are solid for the R series. The Sonys are very nice too, but what also sold me on sticking with Canon besides the lenses is the familiarity with the functions and buttons. It didn’t take long for me to start reprogramming my muscle memory because it was all very similar.

The autofocus is lightning quick compared to my 6D, and drive is much faster. Of course, image quality is improved as well, and I didn’t think I would like using the LCD screen as I don’t like the 6D’s screen that much, but I’m pleasantly surprised how much I’m actually using it now.

We had a huge shade tree in the front yard that the electric company took down at no cost to us. That tree was easily over 100 years old, yet when they built this house in the mid-90's, they stuck the green boxes at the base of the tree. Go figure. The tree roots were tilting the boxes, so the electric company said it had to go. It was a nice tree, but after every wind storm I had to spend an hour picking up branches it shed. Probably not a bad thing that it's gone now.

I have a Sony DSC-RX10 MkIV that's a sweet camera. But I know what you mean about learning a whole new system. The Canon is soooo much easier to adjust quickly. The Sony is just not intuitive to me. Drives me crazy sometimes when I can't figure out how to do the simplest things with it.

I really enjoy trees and hate to see them come down or intentionally take them down. It’s not a tree hugger thing, I just think it’s incredible what they do and offer. Decades of work to just go poof because I said so. Awfully pretty to look at with a variety of species.

Every tree we’ve taken down is still on the property if it hasn’t been repurposed already. Staged for firewood or in the queue to become something via the sawmill. My last tree that fell is now a fire poker holder for when I run cleanup through the fire. Hollowed section holds the rebar nice and leveled it off so my beer doesn’t roll away

Company golf league will be starting late next month so I decided to pull the trigger on a new golf putter.

I bought a new one last year but did not care for the feel of it when the ball came off the face of the putter.

Heard great things about this company! Putter looks gorgeous and I can't wait to use it next month.

I did buy a home putting mat for my office, so that is up there right now, just need to put it together!
