I took my fiance's F48 (which is also our family car) to a skills clinic once. Of course it was fun. Another 100 hp would make it hilarious. If it has four wheels and a half baked motor it can go fast enough to entertain. Front wheel bias, transverse four banger...so what; deal with it. The vehicle should enable a challenge, not serve as a crutch.

I think it looks beautiful for what it is & excited to have this product offering in the lineup now. The rear tail lights could use a minor revision in my eyes. And those hating on the quad tips need to simmer down. As soon as the 4-banger fires up, no one question is for a V8. Live & let this one rip down the road. Surprising others in its wake.

No, you get no exhausts as you started to brag when you got two so they have taken them all away, bad! don’t brag again unless it’s a capital M. M-Lites are for paupers and should be limited, know your place.

When I said to 10 colleagues at work I have a BMW M they almost all looked at me and stated: "Woaw". When I asked them what does "M" stand for, nobody had any clue. So BMW exploits it to the max, and while doing, it is diluting it on term... probably long term. Ps, none of my colleagues talked as from then about my 520d F10, they all referred to my "M5" as from that moment!!!! ignorance is bliss and BMW certainly exploits it in the none fan zone (which is HUGE) ! |

I have a e46 330ci and although it has a 3.0 engine, it wouldn't know which way the f 330 or g 330 went. It's not even close

I'am flabbergasted how my colleagues step out of their 100kW diesels and into their 250+kW EV's and nobody really seems to notice the disruptive improvement. They are even mostly intrigued when I ask them this question: "did you notice the extra urge?". Then they say: "I already felt something was different!?". |

Indeed, my son of 17 is a real M enthousiast (M6c, M5c, M3c r and awd all in the Alps for +3000mls accumulated passenger-seat experience). And when he sees a 118i today with a M badge he still aks me: "is this a real M?". Then i realise the real commercial power of M. ;-)

This looks like an awesome commuter SAV. Who in the real world needs to go faster than 5.2 seconds for 0-60mph? $60K for a loaded X1 is a bit pricey though.
I’m in the market for something along these lines to replace my X2 daily driver in the next few months, and I’d rather go with a low mile used M340i or even a used X3 M40i. That is, unless BMW offers an amazing lease deal on this. This thing looks great and I think will be a big winner for BMW. |
