Would be amazing if Super Sports dropped in price as well.

Comical he states the MPS4S are very similar to the MPSS and Michelin had virtually no comparison between the two, but that Michelin did not have SC6 for comparison which beat the MPSS in all independent respectable head to head tests in 2016.

In fact, SC6 beat MPSS in wet and dry traction in all tests, yet Michelin did not release their comparison numbers between MPS4S and SC6 in their press release.

Obvious by its omission

It sounds like the 4S is replacing the PSS, so they may get cheaper to get rid of them...but won't be available.

You misread. There's the SC6 in those sizes.

They already have done that. The prices are down 10%-15% from last year.

I have a mental problem with distorted diagrams - developed by politicians and refined by marketing people.

That said, it seems the S4S is a winner. I especially like the added life compared to e.g. Conti.

Too bad Michelin failed to share numbers with known Michelin weakness to SC6, such as wet and dry grip (obvious by their omission).

Michelin Braking numbers show 0.8 meter Better with MPS4S compared to SC6, despite graphs showing about 33% more braking length for those who don't drill down on numbers. Will be interesting to see what the Independent Numbers are.

As SC6 are running 20% cheaper to MPS4S the longer life is negated, imo. SC6 rated at 240 and Michelin at 300....or 20% difference.

And if you are tracking car, both tires are wrong, however interesting that the record set recently on Nuburing for front wheel drive cars used SC6 and not MPS4S. That's more impressive to me than 2600m track and MPS4S winning (according to Michelin numbers) by 0.40 seconds.

I'm still mad about how awful the SC2's on my M Coupe were. Made Goodyear RS-A's seem okay.

Just waiting the real comparatives.
Not just some well chosen rival tires, easy to win over. 😉

Does anyone know what the difference between PS4 & PS4S?

They look identical, and their descriptions on Michelins website, including the tyre label ratings, look identical too!?

the top dog street tire (in terms of comfort.. ride.. rain and wet grip and able to be used for light track duty )
6 years ago was the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 (aka PS2)
it was replaced by the Michelin Pilot Supersport (aka MPSS) which kicked PS2 butt...
now to be replaced by the Michelin Pilot 4S which will kick MPSS butt..
