Production Begins!

First week of June, he called me with a firm installation date of 6/15.(almost 3 months later) They did a great job on the fence.

So waiting 3 months for a car to be built seems not that bad to me now.

My sister's car had a tree fall on the roof. The roof had to be replaced. It took 2 whole months before the dealer's own bodyshop to finish the job because lack of parts from the manufacturer.

I usually dont mind waiting either, but when its my first luxury car... ahhhh its killing me.

Worst part is my production doesnt start till mid-next month, and I am in Australia, so god knows how long it'll take on a ship whenever it's done lol!

Tex you and me are east coast homie, probably coming over in the same ship. Unsure if we'd be the same port and they'd drive it or if they get it a bit closer.

Others have said it can take a day or two after ship leaves port for status to change. So my change today was a bit unexpected, especially if it’s on the ship I hope it’s on.

Mine stayed in the paint booth for about 2 days before it flipped to the next step, but after that everything moved quickly until it hit the Awaiting Carrier Assignment step.

Yeah, I was hoping that since I was in "awaiting carrier assignment" for 16 days that my waiting at the port time would be greatly reduced.

How long did the carrier assignment take for you? Also when did production begin for you? I think you blew by me, if I remember correctly.

Awaiting Carrier Assignment was 4-5 days I think. At the Port was 12 days.

Right but I think you got through production faster than me too. I was production begins October 7th.

so BMW's ships don't unload at Brunswick(Georgia) anymore? seems to me that's much closer to the Carolinas. or does it just depend on the ship?
