I can't say how much I appreciate you as a fellow human being for doing this. In college , and as part of my work/study program I had the chance to work at a School for the Deaf and Blind...simply amazing how resilient children with visual and hearing impairments can be, but a companion or sight animal makes a HUGE difference in their ability to live a much improved life.

Thanks for the kind words. He was my first pup and I had him for 11 months.

This one is my new pup...baby dog. We had an outing at the Blind Children's Learning Center in Santa Ana and I was walking around, flying the colors and all, when this girl asked to pet baby dog. I asked the mom if it was ok, got the green light, and put baby dog on a down stay. Well, she was on a down stay for quite some time...maybe 20 minutes or so. Held perfectly still while the girl ran her hands all over her face and body and legs and ears. It was an incredibly humbling experience.

And as you said, hear everyone talk about the "0-4 ravens" which is just.... Sad.

I feel a little better about my hawks now. I whole heartedly believe we would have won against the Rams had Kam chancellor been in, and GB @ lambeu is no joke. I'm not buying into Arizona until they play a legit team (so far only the saints (0-3, niners 1-2 and falling, and the bears 0-3)

Let's see how they fair off with play off contending teams. Dumb red birds.

Aren't you going to miss your graduating pup? I feel like I'd grow so attached to the little guy, even though they would be helping out someone who truly needs them much more than my selfish wants.

That's pretty cool. Are you a puppy raiser, trainer or both? Guide Dogs for the Blind or a different school?

My wife got her first dog last November at 'The Seeing Eye'. She went clear across the country because she wanted a German Shepard.

Missed him from the day he got back on the puppy truck to go to college, but like you said, it's tempered with the knowledge that he might serve someone with real and not emotional needs. Service before self, right?

When they get back on campus, they have to pass medicals as well as 8 phases of training before being considered for class. 2 weeks later, they graduate. In his case, the entire process took 6 months.
