We have to leave work property which is basically a mile walk for me if I want an occasional smoke. I bring a large black trash bag to tie to the tree so people can throw their butts in there or whatever.

There's a million butts all over the ground, and I even pick up empty smoke packs, when the garbage bag is right there. It's not even a 5 foot walk, very infuriating, but that's the kind of people we live with.

Smokers in general. It stinks. It's gross. It's unhealthy. Gives you yellow teeth, finger nails, black lungs, a horrible laugh, shortened life, potential cancer, a burden on your family. Stinky car, stinky clothes. Perfume does not cover that shit up.

What does it do positively for you? My older sister smokes and I've been trying FOR years to make her wake up and realize what she's doing is so harmful not only to herself but to her family and stop.

You know, I used to smoke a pack/pack&half of Newports a day back when I was working as a CNC programmer. Long hours, stressful work, tight tolerances and tight due dates. It was the only thing I had that felt peaceful during 12 hour days. Then a pack of Newports got to about $7.50 in MI, so I quit.

Now I'll have a social smoke here and there. Maybe once or twice a week when I go outside with a buddy around 9:30am depending on how things are going here at the plant.

About 6 years. Not the longest amount of time compared to some, but still 6 years longer than I should have.

Now I get funny looks when I ask someone for a smoke, because they can't grasp how cravings don't resurface if I have one. Most of the time I just want one now because I've been drinking, lol.

How was it when you first gave it up? Was it a decision you solely made or did anyone pressure you? Did you have help?

My older sister is almost 32 and has been smoking since she was 18 or 19. Now she wants kids and is having trouble getting pregnant. (I think its her years of smoking that harmed her eggs and not to mention her husband smokes everyday as well and you men know how harmful that is to your swimmers) Yet she wont quit. I told her for years if she dies of lung cancer or anything related to smoking, that I will not show up at her funeral.

I just want her to be healthy

She recently got pissed off at me because I wouldnt let her hold my daughter. She smelled like a fresh cigarette!
