These 5D2 RAW files are really massive... fills up my CF cards pretty quickly. I spent the last couple hours just moving my LR3 library to a network drive. It wasn't straightforward.
Now, I can finally save and go through my India pics...

I want to take some night shots of downtown L.A. for wall decoration..nothing huge. Any suggestions on settings?
I have a Nikon D7000 and a 18-200 VRII lens and a tripod. |

f/10+, try to stay below ISO640, turn off NR if you're doing less than 2 minute long exposures.

next tuesday should be interesting... rumors point to a 1D5 announcement from Canon. A week later Nikon supposedly will announce the D800.

i think that's BS, personally. There's no 1DsIV yet, there's no 5Diii...the Canon Product cycle is much longer than this. But...if it does happen, i'm getting a 1Div. I'd really like a 1DsIII though.

Then again, who knows... there's always room for a new 3D (no pun intended) in there somewhere

Any chance of a D7100? If I can get the D7000 with a swivel display, I'd be happy. I'm real close to getting D5100 because of the swivel display and the fact that it has the same sensor as the D7000. Problem is, I know how delicate those cheap plastic camera bodies can be. My D3100 actually has a hairline crack on it from lord knows what. Maybe the camera banged into something while slung over my shoulder.

probably not.... I think they are looking to upgrade their pro/semi-pro lines right now. Plus, the D800, D3, 1D, 5D all are at the end of their typical life cycles.

For video, I understand it, but I think that a dslr is a poor choice for a camera that will be primarily a video camera. A dslr is hard to use for video as a casual camera. You have to be serious with a big tripod, fluid head and/or a stability rig to use a dslr for anything other than the occasional video. A swivel display increases the odds of a failure considerably I'd guess. Dave

Have you ever tried shooting video with a dslr? It's not exactly point and shoot, at least if you care about quality. Dave
