Its strange that no one has mentioned to remove the damsal
Long take out the damsal. ITs a very mean and territorial fish, so your clowns will not get along with it. Its like the shark of a small reef tank. They pester and fights with all other fishes. If your take gets developed, you will have to take it apart to catch it. I have had to do this on a few occasions and it sucks!!! ~fk |

Funny I never saw this thread before. Here's mine (picture from earlier in the year):
Here's a thread I started a long time ago on reefcentral (not updated in awhile): http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...hreadid=745212 |

Well, <enter drumroll> I finally took some new snapshots! I finally got the tank the way I want it for now, so I thought I'd take some pics. I think the photos look best at night with blue actintic lighting, so here we go!
Ha ha, out of like 20 pics I took, these are the only ones that came out semi-clear |

Thanks, Nik!
Well, that's my new 75 gallon. I had a yellow and blue hippo tang and they both died, but the OGs, the clown, pseudochromis and cardinal, the ones I've had for about 2 years now are still kicking! |

it's funny to see the beginning of the thread to now...well i skipped but you see all the changes being made...i wish my tank was just as nice... i have a 46 gal that used to have 5 damsels, 3 clowns, 2 yellow tangs, handful of shrimps, and calms...but things just went down hill and well...i have nothing to show for it now. and that red algae, i would try to get rid of it asap...i made the mistake of doing nothing and the invested my entire tank. |

well, imma try to bring my tank back to life, but what would you recommend for getting rid of green, hairlike algae and red algae?
i was told before that for green algae, hermit crabs and turbo snails are good...but i want to stay away from those stupid crabs...killed my clams which i only had for like a few days and for red algae, i was told pepermint shrimps...but i didn't see them doing anything at all except hide insde my rocks and never come out...ever again. |

For red algae, the sand sifting starfish will help for the sand but you really need to get some kind of chemical treatment for that. Peppermint shrimp won't help for red algae but they will help getting rid of glass anemones that sting your coral. Cleaner shrimp will help clean the whole tank including your fish, so you want one or two of those.

yea that's what i thought at first...why in the world are my calms dying
my lil bro and mom said that they saw how the hermits kept picking at my clams and im wonder how could my hermit crabs be killing them...so i just sat there and observed...and surely but truly, one of my clams was half eaten already...AH, oh how depressing that was... but those pep. shrimp...yea, i do recall now that they don't eat the red algae, only those pest anemone...although like i've said before...did not see any results speaking of pest anemones, recommendations on how to get rid of them? it seems like my fish supplier's answer to everything is, "just scrub them off" |

sighs...i've put so much time, money, and effort into it...but yet no results...it's so depressing...at times i've kind of regreted of getting it..and other times i've thought about just converting the whole thing into freshwater. |
