🤣 the garage isn’t as spotless as the photos would make you believe, but it’s quite clean tbf. SpaceSilver.X1 garage is cleaner

But the car…I wash it every 7-10 days in winter (it was washed earlier that day). I’ve also recently come across CarPro Elixir. This is hands down the easiest and quickest post-wash touch up that will enhance gloss and make the car feel slick and give it a wet look. Highly recommend

That's my car in the post above. I personally did not like the way the Sly Bracket mounted, due to the odd shape of openings in the lower grill on the M Sport model. Also required too much work to measure for it, plus it mounts to the plastic grill, which means any flexing or vibrations may scratch/crack the grill (though that's probably not a huge concern). Not to mention it also somewhat blocks airflow to the lower grill, however little.

Tow hook mounts are mounted to the frame and don't touch any of the exterior bumper, much more sturdy and more solidly mounted. The mounts from Rho Plate are very well machined and super solid, unlike some of the cheap thin universal mounts available. Highly recommend them.

Looks good! If I were ever tempted to lower my X1 that would go great with it. I'm enjoying the ground clearance though, and don't plan on keeping the car when the lease is up.

Thanks!
I also enjoy the ground clearance, but love a lowered look. With these installed, the car is optically lowered without sacrificing too much on ground clearance (still have easy entry into and out of the garage, zero problems over speed bumps)

I honestly think the X1 would look pretty nice lowered till the wheels slightly tuck into the fender well, but it would be completely impractical for me lol.

It would look great like that. But I would probably ruin the car within a month 😅

Thanks! That’s an extremely helpful comparison. I will probably go the tow hook route.

There’s another thread going discussing this but just a heads up, H and R USA have released lowering springs for the M35. 1.5 inch drop approximately.

Do you knowing the parts would fit a x28i the same?
I’m pretty sure I’m gonna order front back and sides. Depends on how much shipping to the US is.

Yep! They fit all X1 models with a couple exceptions:
  • Rear lower splitter: doesn’t fit M35i
  • Rear upper spoiler: doesn’t fit the newer style rear spoiler of the M-Sport Pro pack package

Shipping to the USA for those three parts you mentioned will cost €300 (shipped with UPS). It might be cheaper if you order them in two or three separate orders (I saved about €50-60 in shipping when splitting the order in two parts.

Third times a charm! Went from the OEM splitter, which is quite nice, but too small, then to the ESR splitter, which is sportier and more present, and now this one from Maxton Design. This is a chunky, and relatively heavy spoiler in comparison, but by far my favourite. I’m all set on exterior modifications (for now).

The only thing I wish I could find in stock are the OEM M35 mirror caps. But no luck so far. So I’m giving up on that until later in the year when stock may become available.
Love it, do you have photos of all 3 for our comparison and the links to purchase? was it an easy DIY job?

It was a very easy DIY job. But you will need someone to help you hold the spoiler in place whilst you screw in the self-tapping screws.

Photos are marked to distinguish between the three of them:
  • BMW OEM splitter (1)
  • CSR Automotive spoiler (2)
  • Maxton Design (3)

Love it, thanks man. Could you share the link for OEM splitter? I dig that haha.

If you want to do it exactly the way BMW does it, you should follow JUN WOOK BANG posts about his installation. He did a great job. His method (the official way) will require both the front and rear part of the splitter.
  • Front: 51 11 8 083 387
  • Rear: 51 11 5 A0D B79

You can also do it without using the rear part of the front splitter (that’s how I did it when I had it on my car).

Has anyone tried such a rear trunk spoiler (https://www.ebay.com/itm/14545658910...mis&media=COPY)?
These kinds of "additions" are mounted only on double-sided tape?

Haven't tried it, but I've held on front splitters and rear spoilers before with 3M VHB tape with no issues. Just have to properly clean the surface completely before using it.

Haven’t tried this specific spoiler. But for sure there will be no issues with 3M VHB tape as FlashMonkey929 said. Just need to make sure you clean the surface properly beforehand (isopropyl alcohol mixture).

But also, the spoiler you are asking about is WAY overpriced! There are better quality spoilers available for much cheaper.

Agree, that's why I haven't bought it yet. Unfortunately, but I'm looking for something that will cover the whole stock spoiler in width, whereas e.g. Maxton is narrower.
