Anyone betting against Verstappen winning is a fool. Presently, that's the best driver-car-regs combo we've seen in a while. Hamilton had his time, Vettel had it too, even Button did for one magical diffuser year, Schumacher of course, etc. Today it's Verstappen. And very deserving. My prediction ? Verstappen by 20 seconds. He's going to overtake both McLarens on lap one and meet them again at the podium.
But it doesn't diminish others' accomplishments. Formula One has had many exceptional drivers.

I didn't click the link. Sounds like armchair speculation to drive impressions. If Newey to Ferrari doesn't work out, I doubt it'll be because Newey has outrageous demands.

So the news is Newey is going to Aston Martin, as I thought he would. I'm sure ALO is glad even though it's a question mark if Newey can deliver a car worthy of a championship while ALO is still around.

Yes he has existing ties with Aston. I think it makes sense. Also Honda comes in 2026. I did read a number of rumours of Max to Aston in 2026. That would be amusing.

Seems that it's shortly going to be announced that Adrian will be joining Aston Martin. Interesting to see how that is going to drive the grid going forwards, he is only likely to have influence of the 2026 car and completely new regs.

Yeah seems that way, often this is why they get the news but it’s embargoed. We shall see will certainly nicely mix things up having a stronger 4th team into the mix.
Just need to get another team into the mix to really get some entertainment in. |

Apparently Newey gets a max. £150 million 5 year contract at AMR if the rumours are true:
I'm sure for Newey to get to his maximum salery, he has to deliver cars that win championships, but it's a lot of money, well done Newey! ![]() I wonder how that works with the costcap: for instance AMR, and also MERC, the team boss (Stroll and Wolff) is also a large stock holder. What if they don't get a salery, but bonus on their stock or just see their stock rise and consider that their salery in contrast to Horner, who is technically just an employee with a salery. Having a team boss that has no income included in the cost cap is rather unfair. How does the FIA resolve this. Also, (like in the video said), AMR is putting huge amounts of money in new factories, wind tunnels etc. What if they put those assets in a seperate holding and have AMR hire those facilities for a rediculously low price per year. How does all that work with the costcap? It seems that such matters can become very complicated.
