I'll be interested to see how big the sensors get in the next versions of these cameras.....

I'm afraid the next generation will be hard to come by until we're another year past the earthquake/tsunami impact. If anyone is on the fence about buying, I'd say buy now, from the current generation, or be prepared for quite a wait. Dave

maybe with all the radiation, some of the leses will morph into something extraordinary, and we'll get special lenses in the future... (poor joke, i know...) yeah, i don't expect much of a pixel increase, but canon has been working on it's 50mp forever, and they supposedly have a 120mp sensor somewhere in the works, but i suspect the 120 would be used for cinema or something. but it wouldn't suprise me to see a 50 make it into the next 1D or some new format of camera in the next few years. I think as of now, since nikon and sony both have over 24mp sensors in their line ups, we might see something close to 30 especially since Lica even has a 30+ megapixel and Haselblad has something like a 50-60. I'd rather they spend the time on increasing image quality rather then showing up other companies for size. size doesn't necessarily matter (but it definitely helps) it's how you use it. |

Well, the 'blad has a lot more real estate to cram pixels on. (Twice as much area, I think I recall).
Pixel-pitch vs. noise will continue to improve, such that they maybe push the 5D3 up over 25mp, gaining detail resolution and keeping great high-ISO performance. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the 5D MkIII only has only a small increase in pixels and most of the change is improving the video (which has already been a big hit for them) and, hopefully, bringing the AF performance up close to the 7D. (They can't make it too good or they'll kill sales of the 1Ds.) With the yen up and severe shortages likely, I'm really glad that I've got my 5D2 and my 7D. I have NOTHING to complain about. That combination of cameras is like a dream come true for me. Time for someone to post a picture. Here's one I took Sunday afternoon. Another 700mm hand-held, but this time in a 30-mph wind that made it really hard to hold on: Snowy egret hunts in creek by dcstep, on Flickr I think size mattered here, but I'm talking about my lens, not my pixel-count. patiently awaiting the 5DIII release and HPFP failure Eventually it will come and the Canon better have superior autofocusing.

I think it's the stabelizing mount for the suction cup mount he bought a while back to strap to his car.

I'm not going to bust out my shit, download the images into LR, export them out and attach them just for a shot of a sex swing. I'll save that for when stuff is going on IN the sex swing. Where is Chewy anyway? |

fucking tire shopping has got me pissed off. Was supposed to have a set of Conti DW's already but nobody placed the order and now they're back ordered in the sizes I needed so I need to find something else but nothing else is as good or as good of a value as they were.
