Hot hatches aren't defined by their 0-60 times? I would say it's a key benchmark for which hot hatches are bought over just another hatchback. Otherwise, you'd buy any old econobox.

If they don't make it look like ass, like this new Type-R looks, it will be the better & faster of the two. This coming from someone that was never a fan of any of these cars

There should be a poll here:
Which hot hatch would you choose: 1) Honda Civic Type R 2) Subaru Imprezza WRX STI 3) Ford Focus RS 4) VW Golf R 5) Others |

Yes I was seeing it that way to first. But I don't expect to have 20k in repairs and maintenance for the M3. 3k off the bat for rod bearings and a bit more maybe for actuators but that's pretty much it.

what a piece of shit.
if it was 21k, i would say its a great buy, but for what it cost, and the way it was built. Not for me. If you are under 25 years old, i get why you would want this, but can you image being 40 years old driving to a car meet in this thing.

CnC is also filled with guys who spend more time waxing their garage queen than actually taking it out on the road. And regardless it's clear a 40 year old doesn't fall under the main demographics for this car so it's moot anyway. |

For the past 7 years or so there has been this huge battle who makes the fastest fwd hot hatch on the ring. So no, they arent defined anymore by their 0-60 times. they are now defined by their track times. They cant match say an m3's 0-60 time but they have been kicking its butt for years now on the nordschleife.... I dont know if you've ever been there but especially the success of the megane rs makes you think you're in france if you drive around there, looking at all the renault signs at garages and such....
