Try the Aeropress. Simple, fast, and easy to clean.

I just like black coffee. I have been using a Keurig with a reusable pod and I grind my own beans, just enough for the day. I'm using SF French Roast. I love the way my coffee comes out.

One thing I've learned is the grinder makes a difference. So, I've ordered and will receive today a conical burr grinder. Hopefully, this new grinder will improve my coffee making in a noticeable way.

I bought a pour over set up last year and tried it. Two things I didn't like:

It's slow. I want to make coffee and sit down and drink it, not wait for it.
The coffee was too cold. Because it took so long to brew, the coffee wasn't hot enough for me. Maybe I was doing something wrong. In any case, I gave up on pour over and returned to Keurig and fresh ground beans.

I don't drink black coffee, but I would imagine thats all the more reason to have good coffee. At least cream and sugar can mask the taste of shit coffee.

I've never liked the keurigs I've tried although it's been many years. If I want basic coffee I prefer a regular drip coffee maker. I personally don't see how a pour over is significantly different than a drip machine and I'm not willing to put in the work required for a pour over.

If I had to go for maximum flavor with minimal effort and cost I would probably do grinder or buy freshly ground coffee and a drip maker.

However all I use now is my Phillips. I like it so much I bought the cheaper model on sale for $300 for the house in NC.

French press, if you want to make a few cups at a time, or Aeropress, if you want to do single cups. They are quicker and have much less of a learning curve than a pour over.

But if you want good drip coffee and have some money to spend, look into the Technivorm Moccamaster, Breville Precision, and OXO 9 Cup. Range from $200-300 but they make excellent drip coffee.

I've been on an Aeropress kick lately. Makes a surprisingly good cup of coffee. If I'm feeling lazy, then the Jura super automatic is handy. I've also been roasting my own coffee for years. One step at a time...

As other have mentioned, for a simple, cheap auto-drip look at the Bonavita

My wife just bought me this DeLonghi Dinamica with LatteCrema Automatic Expresso Machine for Christmas.

Loving it so far! I'm really enjoying its versatility.
