Yeah Mendy was awesome today. Chilwell was as well. Not just the goal but defending and moving up the pitch.

You're right about Chilwell, I'm happy to see him performing well lately. It's a real competition between him and Alonso for that position now. Competition is good though and it keeps players hungry and not complacent.

The guy I've been really impressed with is Loftus-cheek. He got zero playtime and until recently and is showing himself well. He has really good ball control. I'm beginning to think Pulisic is a lost cause. I can't believe he is still unable to play! The defender Sarr surprised me as well. I had never heard of the guy and suddenly he started yesterday and performed brilliantly in the back. Chelsea has got such depth it's crazy.

Well I'm glad Chelsea beat Malmo in the Champions League but it shouldn't be a surprise. What I am concerned about is injuries to both Lukaku and Werner.

oh man I am concerned too, Tammy Abraham could have slotted in nicely right now! Hopefully Havertz steps up, Pulisic needs to be part of a trade deal for Halland lol

Well I've been very impressed with the play of Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the midfield. From the little I've seen so far he seems to have ball skills that can match Pulisic and he's most likely not as injury prone, but we'll see.

Callum Hudson-Odoi can be a decent spark when he's on. Perhaps he'll also be motivated to make a good impression when given the chance playing up front. I'm just glad their next match isn't against the likes of Liverpool or Man U. right now, but against Norwich City.

Any number of our defenders as that seems to be the trend lately. Their back line has been scoring more goals than the strikers! So to answer your question, a combination of these guys:

Ben Chilwell
Trevoh Chalobah
Marcos Alonso
Andreas Christensen

Jorginho in the midfield position has gotten a few as well, primarily penalties though.

I expect Havertz to step up too.

I have nothing to add except that I've stayed at the Chelsea Copthorne Hotel at the FC the past two times I've visited England. Great town and easy to get into London on the tube.

I had a bad night last night from two of my kids so I just woke up and saw Chelsea scored 7. If Man City can play well without a good striker, then why can’t Chelsea with the talent that they have? Even Liverpool don’t have a good striker, Salah and Mane are wingers. Firmino is not a striker.

I think they probably can. They've got deep talent in the midfield and back line. Chilwell has been in great form as of late. He has scored in their last 3 EPL games as well as scoring one for the England squad. As such, I'm in no hurry to see Alonso back in the lineup. Lol.

Kovacic looks like he had a good game. I think someone like him who can win the ball in midfield and make such good forward passes will be crucial for the wingers to score. Looking forward to see how Tuchel lines up the team for the up coming games.

Yeah Kovacic had a great game. Pin point passing. Kante didn't even play today and of course Pulisic is MIA. He ought to be concerned right now because they've been fine without him in the lineup. He'll probably get sold off to Bayern Munich or somewhere in the Bundesliga. He's worthless because he can't stay healthy and that is painful to say.

Well this is Tuchel's second season with Chelsea and they've been at the top of the standings so far. Remember, he came on board already halfway though the season and they instantly turned things around. I knew that if starting fresh with a clean slate he'd give them a good shot at the EPL title. Looking positive so far.

This sounds like my Friday night AYSO adult league score. We don't "officially" keep score, but I think we won 7-5.

THIS close, picking up the trash on a corner from well above the box, as the outside defender, to scoring. Just left of the post, solid shot along the ground, past 2 opposing defenders. Keeper never saw the shot.
