I don't see that when using the configurator.

I'm almost 100% positive Edmunds would be wrong. As far as I can tell, every other car site only mentions the 7 speed DCT as the only available option for the 2023 X1. I visited the Edmunds site and I see no mention of the 8 speed automatic.

Click on the information circle for m sport in the build and price tab. They have STEPTRONIC in all caps vs the overview of the x1 generally has DCT.

doesn't this just mean that it has paddle shifters? Which is only avail with MSport.

Steptronic is a regular auto trans, not a dual clutch auto manual.

I'm still pretty sure that their information is wrong, considering no other automotive journalists or BMW have stated this.

This is the official press release from BMW and it only states that the M Sport adds the paddles:

Steptronic is the ability to allow both fully automatic or manual control for both torque convertor based and dual clutch transmissions. Since the non-M Sport trims have only the toggle switch located in the floating armrest for drive selection and no traditional shifter, the paddles on the M-Sport are used for Steptronic

I'm a little puzzled by the tire sizes....

for the 18-inch wheels, post #1 of this thread has a chart showing 225/55/18. However, BMWUSA shows 225/50/18 on their website. (unless 55-series is for Europe only?)

also... does anybody know the tire sizes for the 19-inch and 20-inch optional wheels for the U.S. market?

Thanks!

BMW's digital guide/manual for the 2023 X1 is up for those who have ordered and have a VIN#, in the BMW Driver's Guide App. Definitely worth a read through on explaining the features while you *patiently* wait for your new car to arrive!

last week, I used a random 2023 X1 VIN# from the BMW dealer's website(under new inventory), since dealers always advertise with the VIN#. it worked fine at getting into BMW's website to download the PDF owner's manual. I was bored and sitting at the airport lounge waiting for my flight... so I read most of the 300+ pages.

although... I must say.... couldn't BMW spend a little more time and customize the manual for each country... I really hated seeing so many features explained, knowing that they cannot be ordered in the US even if I'm willing to pay.

(Penske group has 11 2023 X1 available for sale... so one of them VIN#s will always work)

Ah, I figured it was available earlier, was a bit too busy at work to try and throw in my VIN and go through it. But yeah, that sucks about describing features we don't have. Mayyyybe there's hope some features can be added down the line through the Connected Drive store though.

pretty sure that BMW will NEVER bring the diesel X1(or any other BMW) to the US.... so the owner's manual just reminded me of that.

Yeah....the US has never really caught on to diesel as much as other markets. I personally wouldn't mind having a hybrid option, with gas prices being the way they are right now. Frequently on a day of work I can drive up to 70 miles, so anything that can save on gas while still being peppy on the road would be welcome. Diesel in Honolulu is still pretty pricey, so I'm not sure what savings there would be, especially when you figure in purchasing the additive required to reduce emissions.

it's probably so old farts like me can enjoy smelling diesel like the good old days.... now the only time that I smell diesel is when I end up following the local school bus for several miles before I can pass it.(single-lane road for miles and it makes at least a dozen stops)

(before anyone thinks that I'm was kidding... I'm not... I do enjoy the smell.. since 1970s)

I agree. Most of the diesel guys I know hate the smell of petrol. When I rebuilt the head on my 850, the guy that let me use his shop said I needed to get it done ASAP. Diesels are great engines but overly complicated nowadays, but I feel petrol engines are getting just as bad.

X1 with Driver Assistant Pro

Just hit Bremerhaven and standing by for a ship:

Alpine white, mocha interior, M Sport, 19 inch Y spoke wheels, Premium pkg, heated seats and steering wheel, Active Driver Assistant Pro.

Understand it will be about a week before it's on the water?

Mine was 12 days; but it varies. Others reported less than 3 days. What ship will you be on? Which dealer did you buy from?

Mine was 13 days, though I suspect being a west coast bound vehicle might've been a factor.
