For the ones on the west coast of the US:
My M35i is on a vessel named Apollon Leader, and it is supposed to get to LA via the cannel on Oct 27th. According to the genius...

My X1 entered the body assembly stage… exactly on schedule. Genius said week 40 and that’s today. Custom paint next!

So mine finally updated from awaiting carrier to in transit a few days back. According to my dealer it shows ZE on 23 Sep and BU on 6 Oct, which places it on the Brooklands departing Zeebrugge and heading for Brunswick. First port Baltimore tomorrow night, which is probably where many of the other Ms in this thread will be offloaded.

I haven't bothered to call the genius folks again to confirm since they seemed to insist it wasn't on a carrier the very day it allegedly left Zeebrugge. Seems like I may actually be back on track for mid-month Performance Center Delivery though!

Was told mine was coming to nyc port?

I saw the dealer design sheet, and it even stated so on there.

It lines up to vessel and route of vessel.

I wonder why west coast deliveries go via the cannel to LA. Isn't it cheaper to put it on a train from east coast to west?

Possibly the labor costs associated with offloading the cars and the loading them on a train makes it negligible? I have no idea though, I know next to nothing about the continental rail system other than when the news reports an Amtrak incident. Hawaii just got its first rail system that cost 12 billion and only travels 11 miles. Doesn't stop at the airport, doesn't go to the main tourist area, doesn't go to downtown or the university, or basically anywhere useful.

Well at least it looks kinda cool. And you'll always get a seat now that it costs money to ride and so no one is anymore.

No change here either. I am guessing we will know for sure if it doesn’t show progress by Monday.

Could be longer. My car was loaded on a vessel that left on the 23rd but didn't show up in that status on the website until the 29th.

Same here… looks like a few back to back ships leaving on this route so if not that one hopefully one of the others. Either way hoping to pick up by end of month!

According to the vessel tracker, my X got to Brunswick, GA Saturday night. Amusingly enough, today my garage tracker went back a step to "at the port" from "in transit." Still not a peep from the Performance Center folks, and my originally requested date was one week from now on the 16th.

Well they are right factually it is at the port .
It will get to 'in transit' state again as they move it from the port to the dealership. That was exactly the case as they delivered my M240i a year ago.

Congrats! The genius line told me that if you see it move backwards a step it’s a sign it’s actually moving forward.

Arrival soon.
Mine “at port 9/9, in transit 9/29 (on Brooklands 9/20, 9-day-delay report), at port again 10/4 (Baltimore), in transit again 10/9”, should be at dealership this week.

Mine got to the port on 9/20 and hasn't moved any status just yet. Hoping for the long delay in the online update and it's actually in transit.

need some advice about an order before talking to the salesman.

I took delivery of my X1 xDrive28i in April.

Last month, I was either drunk or going crazy and placed an order for the X1 M35i.

A week later, I came to my senses and decided against it. I asked that the order be transferred to a relative. The dealer had no problem doing it.

A few days ago, my relative decided that he didn't really want or need a more powerful X1. He wanted to change the order to a 2024 X1, basically identical to mine, except the colors.(MSRP around $48000)

Can an existing order for a M35i be switched to a xDrive28i? It is not scheduled to go into production for another few weeks.

From my experience, yes it can! My original order was for the X1 30e, and my dealer had no problem changing the order for the iX1. Granted, the price went up, but I would hope that this shouldn’t be an issue.

We were apparently on the same boat. Mine got off at Brunswick though. So I guess it'll be another day or two until it's on a carrier to the perf center. Which again effectively destroys the entire capability for my delivery and road trip. unless they magically give me a PC delivery pikcup date like two days from arrival. Highly unlikely.
