MY24 X1 28i Orders, Builds and Deliverys (USA)

Mine just updated to “in transit” so I’m hoping that means it’s either been assigned a carrier or is on its way to the dealer.

And "In Transit" meant it was on the move. It's now at the dealership and pick up is scheduled for Friday afternoon!

I’m only about an hour and a half from the port so still hopeful it’ll be quick once released. I have to get the binder from my insurance company so I need at least a day’s notice of the pick up date.

Curious to see if anyone waiting for delivery was affected by the closure of Baltimore's port.

It looks like a ship (Wallenius' Toledo) was originally scheduled to Baltimore but was diverted enroute to New York.

Mine has arrived at my dealer. Too busy with work (can't believe I'm writing this) so it will be a few days before I can pick the new M35i up. I am very much looking forward to my first 300 + mile road trip.

I went into a local dealer this week about a potential order for an X1 M35. When the salesman went into the computer to see what availability was like he didn't have anything and told me that they are stopping production soon. (I think he said may/June) and starting the 2025s. I can't imagine any changes -other than a price increase. I feel like the '24s just started in January-ish?
Can anyone confirm?

2024 production started late summer 2023.

I think the M35i MY24 production started in July 2023. The 28i MY24 started in November 2023.

The LCI MY24 X5 production started in April 2023, and the MY25 X5 production starts today! It seems model year change overs are coming earlier.

My X1m35i has arrived and I'm very pleased with it. Note that I currently have a 2021 M2 Competition, an i3s REX, and a 2002 M Roadster. I've owned every model of M3 sold in North America, going back to the E30 M3.

The new X1 is not a "full M car." It doesn't have an M engine, nor is it produced as M cars were in the past. However, if compared to a true M car of perhaps 10 - 12 years ago, this X1m35i is no slouch. And, it has so many modern benefits - head up display, crash protection, braking system (I have the M Compound brakes), etc.

I'll share more about the car in the near future.

Soon to be first time BMW driver (finally!)

Just placed my order on 5/17, and it's "scheduled for production." Will track here and see how it goes. Shipping to the northeast, and dealer is near the port.

5/21/24 Production begins
6/7/24 Exterior Body Assembly begins
6/8/24 in the paint booth
6/10/24 entering assembly line, assembly in progress, quality check, final assembly, ready for transport, awaiting carrier assignment
6/12/24 dispatched from factory
6/15/25 at the port
6/27/24 in transit

Spec: xline, CYG, Oyster, eucalyptus. Premium package, DAPP.
