This guys videos including this one are all a bit off base. He clearly states in this video that he prefers a less capable car that feels faster because its less competent. From this and other videos I would say the guy is a very amateur driver that's somehow scored some friends nice cars to drive. I seriously doubt that ford would be capable of doing several back to back laps like an m

Matt Farahs videos are honestly going down hill with these BS comparisons. Nice try... Wonder what Chris Harris thinks about this as his opinion is much more appreciated.

Having owned 2 E46 M3s and now my 2nd E92 M3 I am looking for a day to day driver and I am going to get a Fiesta ST. I drove the car extensively and I was blown away with this car. Yes it is really that good. For those of you with your fanbois responses save the bandwith...don't care. Now if I only could have one car and it was a choice between a nice E46M3 or the Fiesta ST? I would choose the E46 M3, but I would have to be able to afford the maintenance that is involved with a 10yr.+ old car. It would have to be in excellent shape. I've seen a few for sale that were just beat to crap. If I couldn't afford expensive repairs and needed a car with a warranty, a Fiesta ST would get my vote. The point of the comparison. What I found laughable about the video is accusations on the behavior of BMW M drivers...and he drives an Audi. LOL Dave

A 2013 Mustang Shelby ran a 3:00 in the 2013 LL, just .7 seconds behind a 991S. Link.. http://www.caranddriver.com/features...o-2013-page-10 It beat a lot more expensive cars as well..dominated the M5/6 by almost 5 full seconds... Dave

A over 600hp plus car costing well over 50k base price messaged by Shelby performance guys should run fast times no surprise there. A 7 year old 300hp base price $37K car embarrassing cars without even an LSD is a whole another ball game. Show another 300hp car with power to weight ratio of N54 335i that could put such numbers.
At least one has to give credit to Ford that they managed to advance their Shelby a lot more then BMW has advanced its F30 335i. Quote:

Lol, I love a good "Mash up". That's what this is. Does he realize what a 2 second 0-60 is?? My 200+ hp Hayabusa motorcycle vs that M3, a Nissan GT-R isn't even 2 seconds faster than that M3. 2 seconds in the quarter mile is a massacre. 2 seconds 0-60 isn't even a comparison, he may as well race a bicycle against it. Also, a 78,000 mile, 11 year old M3 will cost more a year to maintain and repair (plus be less reliable as a daily driver) than the Ford will to BUY and maintain and repair! No contest! For someone who doesn't want to spend serious money AFTER the purchase the Ford wins as a fun car hands down. But "feels faster"?? It won't feel faster when you see that M3 blast around you in the passing lane like you were going a steady 55 and he doesn't even know you were WOT! Sorry, but serious enthusiasts care more that it IS faster than that it FEELS faster. My buddy's Harley Davidson does feel faster than my Hayabusa, but there is no comparison in performance. Just like between an M3 and a FiestaST. |

I like the comparison seems like a lot of people do not but o well. I have driven the fiesta St and it is good, quality is what you expect for price but you can just toss it all over the place. I seriously considered one before I got my e90 and it was for sure faster than my 330 now. Overall though my personal taste on look was not to be overcome. And coming from driving trucks my whole life that this is for ants.
I can't say anything about the m3 but I've driven an e46 330 before and just the look of the car is worth is for the BMW. The fiesta is ugly. It really is. I would snag a focus for a few grand more. It's kinda sharp looking and can fit people who are not ants on a daily basis. Matt looked like he was about to put a stress fracture on that fords door panel. The thing that they don't tell you about the fiesta is that the seats don't go back like in German cars, I'm 6-3 and when I tested it out over a weekend the seats barely were far enough back for my preferred position. Where as in my car (e90 330) the seat goes back until it hits the back seat basically. If I can't fit, I can't drive it. Also fwd is just annoying. I dislike the slight front wheel torque steer as it is in my xi.

To me the new M5/M6 are not very impressive or as special as they once used to be. Once again over priced heavy weights. None the less a 2013 Mustang Shelby has over 600hp so it should beat cars with 560hp.
Impressive is what a 300hp car with weight to ratio of N54 335i did to performance cars of all types some making well over 500hp. The day F30 newer 3 series would do it. It would be impressive even though I highly doubt it. Because in 7 years Ford has advanced Mustang as a car further then BMW has an F30 335i.

I hope so JV. I hope so.
But it might be short lived as new Mustangs are around the corner and they will have more improved suspension to complement the powerful engines. The American car companies are getting back in the game real strong. I am so proud of them. Go USA.

I have no clue who this Matt Farah guy is, and I'm not doubting that the Fiesta is a fun little car to drive, but is someone who's debating whether to buy a used M3 or not really going to think about a Fiesta?
Personally, I'd rather have a Golf GTI for that money. Paying $25K for a Ford Fiesta seems silly. |

agreed; and i would add that, for roughly the same price, i would choose the mkvii base golf with the new 1.8t over the fiesta st, sacrificing the hard edged sportiness for a new chassis, new engine and overall much more refined vehicle.

I just love the "chick car" arguments. "Dude, only chicks drive that car!" A fact for which I would give you zero fucks in exchange.

Well, I guess if it were my only car, it might matter. Good thing its not. To each their own. Regardless, there's more females driving your 3 series, than my M3.
