that's the trick behind vehicles... you gotta pay to play!
i mean, we could all just pick up a used BMX from creigslist for free and ride it to work every day, but we choose to spend money where it isn't really necessary to some, 80$ at the pump is worth it. PS. we already pay that in canada on more fuel efficient vehicles now! to fill up my BMW here in Ontario with 91 octane (haven't even checked what 94 octane costs at the moment) it would be equivilent of $5.68 per gallon. |

that's why my wife is currently driving the bimmer........ she likes going 420 miles without a fill-up...... i go 275-280 if i drive like a poon. typically go 240-255. |

haha, my cruising speed has dropped about 5mph with gas prices these days (we drive further over the limit then you guys in the states...) and it's amaizing what that will do to gas mileage.
All i know is, when i go for a cruise, i try to make it last as long as possible, and when i want to play, i try and burn the tank as fast as possible. |

sometimes i get "sprited" and wanna get home faster, but i typically am an "80mph driver". the bimmer LOVES 80mph, good lord. anyone else get 29-30mpg cruising at 80 in their car !?!? |

If i'm in a rush to get somewhere and go that speed, i get better gas mileage then when i'm just cruising along.... it annoys me. so i either go around 60mph or 80mph. and our speed limit here is approximatly 60mph, which is like the biggest kick in the balls if you own a fast car.... My brother in law loves it because he has a badge in his wallet, so he drives my car harder then i do when i let him take it out |

my tune gets me over 30mpgs hwy easily. I just don't see the need for an unaerodynamic 5.9L V8 in ANY car with the kind of technology out there. Trust me, I LOVE Jeeps, have owned 4 of them myself and like 10 in my immediate family, but they don't ever do well on gas.

haha, i think it should be speed limit sensitive to the time of day...
you got a picture of it at a good time. For the next time you're in Ontario, don't be afraid to wander to 120kph, they tend to only start going after people going over 120kph, and trust me, there's almost always people going well in excess of that. I wouldn't recommend 120kph from a GPS standpoint though, then you're taking a risk. set it at about 115 on the GPS and you'll be safe. Other provinces can get higher speed limits then Southern Ontario. Even when you get to northern Ontario, you can see some 110kph roads (68ish mph) The one thing i've never figured out, the 401 maintains 100 all the way through toronto, which is a suicidal speed in such a congested city. |

I wish the highway were at least divided so you had some nice scenery on both sides. But no, it couldn't be any flatter and less featureless. |
