03/25: i5 models refreshed (unknown what exactly will change).
As it is now about a year out - any news on what will change exactly next year for G60/G61 i5?

Regarding the interior — it’s getting idrive 8.5. I don’t think I would notice that difference too much. Unless it were getting new flat-bottomed steering wheel as M4 LCI or changing the gear shifter from traditional looking to a stub (yikes!!), in which case I will book the MY2024.

Thanks
Snowy: You should probably get the MY2025 of the M2. So close to July production, it would be foolish to get the MY2024. Always better to get a car at the beginning of the model year (MY2025) than at the very end of the model year (MY2024).

Why is that always better?

I have decided to wait. I have confirmation on 20PS, 50nm increase, idrive 8.5, flat bottomed steering wheel, new color options (fire red, São Paulo yellow, skyscraper grey, portimao blue; sorry — no Java green or purple shade), and there could be other minor things as well.

Thanks.

Solid upgrades. I agree better to wait. Still wish there were a WBS variant.

Are there any known feature/option updates for MY2025 G60 in the US? If not, when does this info usually become available...May/June? Thanks.

I'm really curious to see what the noticeable difference will be between the Neue Klasse iX3 and the 2026 G65 iX5. Both vehicles would be of interest to me as the successor to my current i4.

The iX5 is also supposed to get the new telematic system EES25. In addition, you have already announced updates to the EM / batteries for the i5 and i4. In the end, I somehow can't imagine that a 2026 G65 iX5 will be worse off (in terms of range, charging speed, assistance systems and infotainment) than a 2025 NK iX3.

Are there any initial indications of how BMW will deal with this?

The i4 drivetrain refresh in 07/25 will result in i4 M50 becoming i4 M60 xDrive with 590hp.

ynguldyn Is there any plan for an LCI of the G09 XM? I suspect no given the short production run (of only 5 years)...

Doesn't seem to be much. I'm expecting (with less than 100% confidence though) some improvements but no radical changes. Power output will remain the same, packaging will remain the same, it should just be something in the electrical system. I believe the best way to look at this refresh is like a TÜ for the engine of a traditional car where sometimes only the mechanics working under the hood could see a difference. In this case, from the consumer standpoint, I won't be surprised some extra mileage to be the only noticeable thing.

Fingers crossed they will remove the tacky “5” from the rear window/door trim and the terrible black plastic side skirts.

This kind of thing only happens at LCI.

I figured. But they did remove the chrome door handle strip from the G30 after 2018, well before the LCI. So I thought maybe at least the plastic “5” might have a chance to get lost. But I hear you and good point. Thanks for the updates.

Could it be support for V2L and V2G?

Still no information about the G20 LCI 2? In the beginning of April my dealer told me that probably mid April we will know everything about the G20 facelift.

I’m looking at buying the M340i but I’m in Australia and our dealers know nothing about the changes coming. Does anyone know how long after the interior changes would normally roll into Australia?

What do you mean no information? It's all there in the top post.

This is probably the wrong place to ask a question that can only be answered by the people who understand Australian vehicle logistics. Is there a local forum?
