ID9 startup screen

I'm assuming there's no way to disable this initial warning shown on the startup screen?

Never seen that on my id9, is it your country specific regulations?

I think this is a requirement in the US, or at least state-specific.

On all my previous BMWs I used to code that warning out. With ID8 or ID9, it’s locked down so hard I don’t know if we’ll ever be able to.

Not sure if it’s a requirement by law, but yes, they’re on all US BMWs with a screen. Just like the airbag warnings printed on our sun visors.

These kinds of warnings are all about fending off potential lawsuits. Remember when someone spilled hot coffee on themselves from a McDonalds coffee cup and sued McDonalds. In the U.S. companies need to have warnings everything!

Yep. Such a pain here in the US. On all my past BMW’s I’ve been able to code these away but no coding ability on this model, at least not yet.

North American thing...fear of litigation obviously. There's always some nutter that would file a lawsuit saying he got into an accident because he wasn't warned about not playing with the touchscreen whilst driving...dimwits

I figured we were stuck with it but thought I'd ask anyway!
