Comfort Access Distance and Comfort Rules

Q1:
When I park my X1, its literally 3-4ft from where I leave my keys (wall separating them). I noticed the marker (approach) lights turning on and off. Then I realized the keys and phone were close enough to set off the Comfort access system.

Can this distance be changed or disabled?
Or do I need to leave them out of range?

Q2:
Did they remove the Comfort system rules for turning on heated seats and steering wheel when below a certain outside temp?

Thanks

Options:

1) get a faraday pouch for your keys (generally a good idea) though less effective if you use phone or watch as a key

2) change car settings to disable proximity unlocking. This isn’t as bad as it sounds as you can still swipe your foot to open the boot and to unlock the car you just need to touch the underside of the driver or passenger side door.
