Curb Rash

So, I can’t believe I did this especially because I’m so careful with the G80, but I was making a turn in a strip mall, I accidentally hit the curb. The amount of curse words that came out was almost limitless! And the sound was sickening! F***KING curbs!!! I quickley pulled over and the kids said that you could barely notice the ding in the rim. The tire took the majority of the rash..thank God for thick, fat P Zeros. I’m not going to get it fixed because you can’t really see it.

But, now my OCD mind is going bonkers because now I feel every vibration from the suspension. So, a question, do you guys think I may have damaged the suspension or thrown the camber, etc out of spec?

That's nothing compared to what I did backing out of parking space at the airport. I cleared the curb I saw on the passenger side but just grazed the unpainted curb opposite the parking spot. Pretty much rashed half the wheel.

About all you can do in this situation is remember somewhere in the world there's a man trying to fish with a bucket.

Yesterday my friend took his car into tire shop to get his wheels re-balanced; after a novice track session, he felt a bit of wheel un balance. Turns out he has 1 wheel slightly bent and a 2nd wheel so far bent, it's not repairable. He's on Apex wheels. Does not drive car in winter. Has no idea how this could happen as he's extremely careful. Shop owner who did the diagnosis runs his own Scion at the same track.

Looks like you hit it pretty good. I'm sure everything is fine. The oversized rim protectors on the P Zeros helped you out a lot there as rim damage is pretty minor. Easy fix.

Ahhhh I feel you I just did this on my powder coated wheels fresh this year. I never do this but of course I was parallel parking and figured nah you don't have to go forward and bam, my front wheel was to close.

But yeah no nothing will be damaged other than the wheel itself.

Reminds me of my first "nice" car, an '05 Mustang GT. Had aftermarket black chrome rims on it, when black chrome was a new thing. I curbed a rim coming out of a bank teller window. I was sick about it for months.

Check with Wheel Collision Center, near you in Bath PA. They may have one available or can fix yours.

My man. You are overreacting here. A tiny bit of curb rash and you think your suspension is damaged or your camber is thrown off?

Come on now. Your car isn't made out of sugar.

Honestly, for that I’d find some appropriate touch up paint, do that, and not worry about it too much.

A couple of my Apex wheels are bent and unfixable....makes for a buzzy ride.

I think the forged wheels get bent....better than breaking.

Very frustrating since no longer available and I'd have to buy a new set...

That damage is nothing.....easy to clean up and nothing damaged.

I have no idea but when I get them back they look perfect. I haven’t required a balance so far unless he does them at the shop as a part of the repair.
