So annoying. Manual air re-circulation keeps switching to auto re-circulation shortly after setting it. I am having this issue with my 1 week old X1. I saw this on other older posts for other models. Have anyone had this issue and is there any know solution? Posts suggest that it is notmal and that HVAC does that to refresh air or when there is high moisture level inside the vehicle, which I believe is nonsense! Why have a manual mode if the system will override it every time?

Yup, very annoying. I'm sensitive to the carbon monoxide exhausted from other vehicles and it sucks having to breath it in all the time.

You can thank modern nanny electronics. Anyone remember back in the old days when cars had manual air conditioning systems with a mechanical slide lever to adjust air recirculation? You had total control over air flow, fan speed, recirculation. Can’t get that anymore.
