If I had the time I could probably design one and have a prototype 3D printed, but it would take a really long time. My CAD skills aren't the greatest yet.

Most definitely this! The design of the whole centre armrest and storage is my number 1 gripe.

On the test drive, I was wowed over by the floating armrest, thinking how neat and futeristic is was, but it's not until you have lived with a car for a few weeks that you realise that what seems like a nice bit of design is actually annoying from a practical point-of-view.

Mental isn't it, I wind my wife up when I get in my car, Ooooooohhh look at how many things I can fit in my useful deep large easy to access secure armrest. I get a scowl back, tee hee.

The fact that it even struggles to hold a pair of sunglasses without crushing them a little is a very very strange thing for something that has such a basic requirement. Like cup holders surely the next thing is where to do put a pair of (potentially expensive) sunglasses that you don't want to be seen.
