E-chassis bimmer are timeless machines!
Like the title of this thread states, E-Chassis Bimmers are timeless machines IMHO. Each model is unique and different for the other model, unlike today’s bimmers that are blan and have no unique characteristics and now started to look like old Camrys from the rear like the new 5er & 7er IMHO.
- 92 E34 - 01 E38 - 04 E46 (ZHP) - 06 E86 - 13 E82 (135is) E-chassis bimmers

couldn't agree more. whenever I hear of someone complaining about modern day BMWs, I tell them to go on ebay and pick out the cleanest anything from the 'E' generation of cars. they're what made BMW BMW.

Very simple. The list I used to start the thread is for what I currently own. I’ve also owned an 87 E30 325es, 96 E36/37 Z3, 01 E46 330CI & an 08 E92 335XI but didn’t list them cause they are no longer part of my fleet

I have. The s62 4.9 L V8 with a 7k redline, 400 hp and 369 lbf-ft paired to a MT was a monster. It wasn’t too long after taking delivery of my ‘03.5 e46 M3 and getting through the RIS when I had the opportunity to drive the e39 M5. The s54 felt fast as it raced to the 8k rpm redline with a constant linear pull. S62 was the complete opposite with its extra > 100 lbf-ft at a lower rpm. It would plant your butt in the seat at lower rpm and then build speed in a nonlinear fashion compared to the s54. It kicked hard with each gear shift and continued to build speed effortlessly. The e39 M5 sedan felt like a large car compared to the e46 M3 coupe. Current g8x M3/4 feels much larger than the e39 M5! Why do we need such large cars today? The size of the e46 M3 and e39 M5 were perfect. Definitely one of the best M cars.

Unfortunately not. Hoping to do so one day. It’s pretty much beyond what I would spend for a low miles clean example since the prices has skyrocketed of late to a point where it is not feasible for me. I might settle for an “M5 lite” 2003 540i w/M-Tech ll Sport package and 6MT (titanium silver/black)
