Thanks MontyB1 and Tunners, that’s really helpful. (Significantly more helpful than BMWs clarity on spec!)

Garage List
Although not relevant to you specifically, I can also confirm that in Austria you need the driver assistant pro pack to get the triangles in the mirrors

I find the X1 doesn’t really need blind spot as I can see clearly any cars through the mirrors. I remember the first time I cane across this tech on the Audi Q7 car launch, man that car definitely needed blind spot due to its size and design. X1 not so much…

Seems to be a LOT of X1s appearing on the roads in the UK now in lots of different colours and specs. Anyone else hovering around when are yours due, and are orders and deliveries starting to get ID9 across the planet?

For those early users this will surely help get more focus on the various issues, bugs and functionality shortfalls.

I'm gonna add on this thread my build details, even though I'm only 10 days away from delivery

iX1 xDrive30 M Sport in Alpine White with Alcantara-Veganza interior in Black with Blue Stitching. I went for the Tech Plus Pack too.

Production date was 30/9/23

I can't wait!

Nice, tech pack plus is the icing on the cake, the HUD is great and the augmented nav is great to use, the camera is behind the mirror so you always get a clear view you can see the wipers. Heated wheel is nice but gets warm not hot but hey who doesn’t like to warm the car through and have warm hands on a cold day.

Enjoy.

I have just activated my steering wheel. 😊 As you say, it gets warm but not hot.

Thanks! Heated steering wheel isn’t included though. Not the end of the world for me

My 23i is due to be built week 47 and delivered (presumably to the dealer) week 50. Not confident I will still get before Xmas but let's see.

The build week is often when it’s finished, check a few weeks beforehand with the genius chat where it’s up to and they will give you a status number and eta or where it is with the build.

It can go the Cuxhaven and be there days or weeks before it makes it to Southampton in a few days one on a ship and then a few days normally to get to the dealer.

MontyB1 ours is now status 190 on the way to Cuxhaven. Any idea of tracking which ships are used and when, or is it just as and when they’re full they go?

My 28i status has been In transit for 3 weeks now. BMW Canada does not provide much information on their website.

Build is M Sport, Blue Bay Lagoon, Mocha Sensatec or Veganza, 19 inches wheels.

He’s been on vacation for two weeks now. Planning on reaching our to him Monday. If the car was on one of the two ships that arrived in Halifax on the 19th, I guess I should have news soon.

It’s hard, a bi-daily chat with the genius and when it’s moved have a look at the ships due onto Southampton from Cuxhaven. It can be a week or up to a months wait so be patient. The Southampton port side has a PDF of movements that updates daily so it’s often easier to guess what’s incoming even before the car has got onto a ship at times as it’s only at sea for a few days.

Thanks MontyB1 that’s good insight. Genius has been helpful, keeping a close eye. Delivery estimated for 13-19th November so hoping it gets an earlier ferry, fingers crossed!

If you want to really geek out you can often watch the cars being unloaded on the Southampton port Webcam. I’ve just come off a cruise ship and the import multi story was full of US built cars, M2 / 2 series coupe from what `I could spot.

Back in April, I watched this live cam for hours while my X1's ship stopped in Southampton... then it sailed for Baltimore and Brunswick in the US.

(video saved and cropped from the Southampton live stream.... had to speed up the video because aparently ships moved really slowly... that ship was carrying my X1)
