"Iconic sound" setting: I can't tell any difference between on or off at all?

makes no difference if how I'm driving or what my speed is... is this normal? I thought it was supposed to pipe in some "fake" exhaust sounds?

For the hybrids there is huge difference i havent heard ICE but i guess it wont be that huge difference.

I've never tried turning it off, but it sounds vastly different inside the cabin vs what I hear with the windows down. The diverter valve is surprisingly loud, but I kind of like it.

It's a big difference in the iX1. Without it there's no sound

Personally I can't stand the thought of having a false sound pumped through the speakers. Really, what's the point? These days cars are to be seen and not heard. They even have to hide exhaust pipes as they are the work of the devil.

one of my neighbors has a Tesla and he had one of those exhaust sound generators installed under the rear of the car. It's almost as loud as a real gas-engine car exhaust system. It did make me wonder why he even bought a full EV Tesla to begin with?

Heh, I'm the other way. I'd much rather have a subtle overlay of nice pumped in audio, than the real sound of a boring 4 banger.

guilty as charged. sometimes I'm just way too tired and want to get some sleep, so I make some fake sounds. I sincerely hope that I don't end up like Mr. Roper in the future.

I have a X1 25e, but I cannot notice any difference in sound when Off or On. I have tried it in all the different modes. In which mode, speed, etc. is the best way to notice the difference?

If I’m not mistaken, iconic sounds for PHEV models only works when driving in fully electric mode.
