Not sure how it is in the US, but base- and X-line models either come with chrome or satin silver trims. Only the M-Sport models come with gloss black trims.

The X1 in the pic is an X-line model, so it comes with satin silver trims.

In Europe, you change the default M-Sport gloss black trims for satin silver (like the portimao blue X1 four posts above).

Couldn‘t figure out if its iX1 eDrive20 or iX1 xDrive30, but same kidney for both vatiants.

I think he was talking about just the M Sport trim line, though to be fair, Portimao Blue is exclusive to the M Sport and thus you can’t actually get that color with the aluminum window trim and roof rails.

But does that apply to the Space Silver color? The referenced photo was not Portimao Blue and the OP has Space Silver (same as my color) which is why I asked.

If not available in the US then I assume I can expect black rails and trim which will contradict the images I've received with the proposed build.

The photo that HE referenced was Portimao Blue. His X1 is Space Silver, and he has the M Sport trim, so not possible to get the aluminum window trim and rails.

Bottom line, as other have stated: M Sport trim in the US = no aluminum window trim or roof rails.

Picked it up yesterday from BMW Seattle. Original Deposit in Feb this year, 10 months in the making. I'm liking it very much, very happy with the color. I'll do a proper review after Christmas.

Utah Orange would have looked amazing with M Sport package.(but not available when I ordered mine last year)

Covered in dirt and road salt within an hour of picking her. A few days later it got warm enough to wash and wax. Clean now but not for long (hopefully!)

sorry, my bad... it never crossed my mind that anyone would drive the M35i as a daily driver. (same way almost nobody drives a Ferrari as a "DD")

Good eye. Its a '76 Reso thats been a work in progress for around 3 years. Has a M42/5Spd from a E30, modern AC, Reacros etc etc etc.
Still needs a bit of work, but its getting there. Believe it or not, its my daily car (the M35 is the wifes).

that looks like a 5-month-old car, not a car that's almost 50-years-old.

With proper care, I'm sure it can be around for another 50 years!

I wonder how many current(2023) BMWs will still be around in 2070. Probably extremely few, if any, since replacement electronic parts will probably be non-existent in 47 years.

Picked up on Friday, really happy with the car. Great to drive, lots of kit.

Does have the updated grill, and “M” door mirror lights, will they post some more pics when I’ve had a chance to take a few more.
