what kind of wheel brushes do you use for X1 M Sport with the M Sport 18-inch wheels? specifically, I'm having a hard time finding a suitable small wheel brush to wash behind the spokes. Any recommendations appreciated!

I use these wheel brushes in combination with the Gyeon Q2M Wheel Cleaner and a pressure washer.

Best way is - clean them regularly with an iron remover and a quality wheel cleaner with a foamer.
Also - since its new - take off all wheels - cover them with quick sio2 based detaling spray like Geyon,Carpro,C2quartz etc and that will ease the process and keep them fresh.

Cheers.

ps: look at detailing website - i have the same issue with the 19s but so far i keep them fresh every couple of days.

Not sure why you’re quoting me. My entire car has been coated since the first month of ownership. The Gyeon Q2M wheel cleaner has iron remover in it and is very effective. The pressure washer is to help get into crevices and areas my hands can’t reach.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look into those brushes and Gyeon cleaners.

I haven't had wheels with so many spokes in a while. Forgot that it's a PITA to clean them.

sure do miss my old wheels from a while back... not because they were that good-looking... but they were so easy to clean. I simply reached in there with my hands and cleaned them. no need for wheel brushes.

so I got my new wheel brush set and a couple of iron remover wheel cleaners...

went out to wash the car this morning.

boy, do I feel like an idiot. It never occurred to me that the 18" M wheels are all black, except the brushed aluminum parts facing out. I got under the car to look at the exhaust valve flap in the right exhaust tip... that was when I noticed the inside of the wheels were also black.

it turns out that the last time I was cleaning them, them were already as clean as possible... but because they were black, I thought they were still dirty, so I kept brushing them...

I have never had black wheels before... all the cars I've owned in the last 42 years were all painted silver, chrome, or white(OZ wheels)
