X1(U11) owners in the DMV(especially MoCo, PG and NoVa), how often do you see another X1(U11)?

Just wondering... going back there for a few days next week. If you see a silver X1 M Sport with no front license plate and a silver Thule box on the roof, that will be me.

I'm from the UK, but also have the same question!

I think I've only seen another X1 on the road maybe four or five times in nearly a year of being on the road in mine (apart form one month off road when it was waiting for a new gearbox, but that's another story...)

I see a fair few X1 and iX1 around Wiltshire

I have a new 2024 X3 but had two X1s before that. Loved them both and was ready to get a new one but backed off because I wasn’t comfortable with the elimination of the interior physical controls and runflats, so I got a new X3 instead. Love it so far.

In answer to your question, I rarely saw other X1s in the DMV area when I had my 2015 and 2018 X1s. They are more prevalent now but still more X3 and X5s around. The dealers around here could not keep X1s in stock for the last year or two but now demand seems to be leveling off. You will likely see some but not a lot of them.

I originally grew up in DMV(mostly NoVa and MoCo). Moved away only a little over 10 years ago because I wanted to live in a state that does NOT require front license plates.(okay, one of the reasons anyway)

Haven't really been back in the area for more than a day until this week. MoCo and PG have really changed as far as traffic was concerned. What's the deal with so many speed and red light cameras? They are almost at every intersection! Almost all the drivers on the roads behaved like they were afraid of getting tickets in the mail!

Yes DC Metro traffic is heavy all day now especially the beltway - not just during rush hour. And yes there are speed and red light cameras pretty much everywhere here now. And yes nearly everyone uses warning apps to avoid tickets in the mail so a lot of brake slamming when close by to the monitors. I am using the BMW subscription traffic cam app and it seems to work very well. Money well spent imo.

I've seen a couple in the Fairfax/Loudoun areas but not very many. All of them have either been Alpine white or standard Black - seemingly base models. Have not seen another M35i on the roads just yet!

SpaceSilver.X1 I am not putting my front plate on as long as I can. I installed a tow-hook bracket for my X5, but really would rather not even do that for the X1. At some point soon my "the bracket is on backorder" won't hold up given I got the car mid-November.
