wow... the most beautiful X1 color I have seen so far. $3000 is not bad. It will cost more than that to have the car wrapped in that color and it won't look as good.

was this a customer cancelled vehicle? I can't picture the dealer ordering one just for their inventory.

also... it just occurred to me that the orange color makes the orange reflector on the headlight disappear.

This dealership likes to order individual colors year round

nice, but i do wonder how does someone with an individual color order replacement parts that typically come painted? i.e. antenna cap? would you have to have it painted to match?

for the X1(U11), the fuel filler cap, rear spoiler, exterior mirror caps, lower side skirts, door handles, roof antenna cover and many small parts come primed... (the BMW parts catalog shows all of those parts as "primed")

after you buy them from the BMW parts dept, you'll have to get a body shop to paint them for you using the individual paint code.

even as far back as the E36 3-series 318i convertible(with a manual top) that I had, the BMW dealer sold me the replacement mirror cover and it was only primed. I remember walking over to their body shop across the street. They wanted too much money..(I was young and had spent all of my money on car stereo for competition)... so I ended up buying a pair of E36 M3 mirrors instead.(used part from a red M3) Not wise... since the led me to end up installing full M3 bodykit on the convertible... plus genuine M3 wheels, suspension kits, etc...

Very distinctive and bold choice!

Ive had yellow MINI and a Volcanic Orange MINI too but the X1 is a bigger car and I remember being put off ordering a Nugget Yellow VW Corrado by the salesman who said I would never re sell the car!

I was going to say the same thing. Some colours tend to go in and out of fashion. Will this colour be popular in 3 years time and if not, how will it impact on the resale price?

In the meantime, you are definitely making a statement in owning that colour.

I think generally speaking, you need to be a very niche market to want this car in that color.

the M35i is already targeted to a very specific market, even more so in a very loud individual color.

My favorite BMW color. I considered it heavily on my M35 but ended up going black instead.

Looks great!

If I wasn't such a lazy bum, I would have ordered black as well! Black is the "proper" color for a BMW.

I used to have a large black Ford Expedition. It was in pristine condition after 5 years... but I spent all my free time to keep the black paint in perfect condition. Got so tired of doing that... so all of my cars after that were light colors.

Oh yeah. This is my 4th black BMW. My favorite look but they’re never clean.

My wife’s alpine white x3 is much easier.

Agree about some colours being fashion colours and I loved the Volcanic Orange Mini when it first came out as it was different and distinctive but I wasnt so keen on the colour 2 years later.

Volcanic Orange also dated the car to a 2014 to 2016 model when MINI offered the colour as fashion colours tend to only have a limited shelf life.

Fire Orange wont date the car however as you will probably never see another!
