Best driving shoes?
I want to get a pair of driving shoes, any suggestions?
My size is between 14-15 and wide, browsing Puma BMW shoes, I found some reviews and it seems they run smaller and narrow, something like this:

I've always been a fan of any driving shoe I've bought from Puma. I've had a pair of Ferrari and BMW Puma's and they are about the same shapewise.
They are definitely narrow and pointy, so if you have wide feet, I'd try on a few different styles. It also seems like the impression on the bottom of the foot is pretty defined too and not flat, so it may be uncomfortable for some people. Since you have wide feet, have you ever tried on a pair of Puma's? |

I have larger feet (either 12.5 or 13 and EEE to EEEE depending on manufacturer). I have a pair of Piloti Prototipos and they fit pretty well. All driving shoes are snug, but these don't pinch and they are comfortable.
I'll have to check to see what size I ordered, but I think they are 13's. http://piloti.com/product/prototipo-black/ Looks like they don't have your size in these. |

They are driving shoes, so they are meant to be snug, but not bursting at the seems. Having slim feet, I can't really testify much for width. |

I bought a pair of puma shoes a while back, but honestly I prefer the old sneakers I wear every day. I think comfort and predictability play a big part in my choice, I'm just so used to the sneakers they feel natural especially in sport mode with the sensitive throttle
Definitely have some kangaroo moments when switching shoes for the first few minutes |

I have 3 pairs of Puma Drift Cats / Speed Cats and love them. Subtle, sleek, comfortable.
However, they definitely do run small; I'm a 10.5 in all other shoes, but needed to go up to 11.5 in all of the Pumas I have. |

It's entirely subjective. I have a pair of Oakleys and I'm disappointed in how little cushion they provide on the back of the heel which is important on long drives. The main thing with dedicated racing shoes is that they have pretty thin soles for good pedal feedback and have various safety certifications which you may not really need if you're not tracking.

Men and shoes! Oh boy.
I have a pair of sneakers (or what ever these are, pink awful, girly shit) and the soft bottom is the only requirement I've found useful. My massive Us 7 feet stay on pedals well enough with these though I don't like the standard rubbery things they have in the cars.

Tods are nice (for a fancy driving shoe). Pretty expensive though. I know they partner with Ferrari every once in a while.
Also, Porsche design has shoes. They have pairs that literally fit the gas and clutch pedals; so if you have a porsche and don't care about spending a pretty penny, thats probably the best driving shoe for you...

Manual drivers and shoes
Do you guys have issues with certain shoes when driving manuals?
When I wear most dress shoes and some sneakers my shifts get jerky. I end up having particular driving shoes like these http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?it...0F5-001Y-00GV2 but sometimes can be a bit inconvenient Last edited by 4DRS55; 01-19-2015 at 01:52 PM.. |

Nope. I can heel and toe in flops. Kind of a required skill living in FL!
