Kobe is sick. Lebron even says he's the best player in the NBA in the most recent issue of ESPN Magazine. Everyone maligns him but when he's on the court - he does things that noone else in the NBA can do.

He just did something even Michael Jordan couldn't do... He's up there with Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor. The guy scored at least 45 pts in 4 straight games. I wouldn't be surprised if he scores 100 points in one game before the season ends.

lakers and warriors had the same record last year, too early to tell what's going to happen this year (neither team's getting out of the 1st round though, if they make the playoffs)

Shaq was the only reason the lakers were winning

and yet... Shaq can't win a championship by himself, thats even when he had the help of Dwayne Wade AND Eddie Jones. So much for Shaq. Warrior has a good shot this year, if everyone's focused.

The Kobe/Shaq Laker teams were mediocre except for the two of them. The other starters were Rick Fox, Ron Harper(and later other trash PG's), and Rob Horry...Two of them were vets with rings, but not really doing anything but inbounding the ball and watching the Kobe and Shaq show.

I think you sell the others a bit short,
all were exellent 3pt shooters who rained 3's when shaq or kobe got double teamed.

they were'nt good on their own, but as a group it was incredible

Dude, Rick Fox was one of the top defenders in the NBA. Ron Harper and Robert Horry does all the stuff that's not recorded on paper. And Robert Horry is not called Big Shot Rob for nutthn. Without Rob's last min heroic, Lakers wouldn't have won at least 2 of the 3 championships. They had a shallow bench, but apparently its sufficient to go 14-1 in the playoffs. And that one loss is after too long of a rest, and they only lost because of some bad calls last min.

I like how 90% of all the Lakers fans are talking on cellphones (probably talking to the fan two rows above them) while the other 10% are empty. At Arco Arena, 100% of the fans are waving around white t-shirts or ringing cow bells. Just jibin'.
