2024 X1 width with mirrors folded
I'm trying to help my sister shop for a new car. She has a peculiar constraint: her driveway is VERY narrow. Her garage is fine, but her current vehicle barely fits. It's 1892.3mm (74.5") WITH MIRRORS, and they aren't folding.
So I'm hopeful that an X1 might work for her: she'd fold the mirrors on her way in and out. She doesn't drive that often--several times a week--so that would be OK with her. What I can't find is a believable dimension with mirrors folded. The listed width with mirrors "out" is 2104mm, which is obviously quite a bit wider. I found some pre-2023 widths with mirrors folded, but the 2023/2024 looks to be a bit wider. OTOH the body bulges out a bit below the mirrors, so some of the folded-mirror width would presumably be covered by that. Does anyone have this dimension or, failing that, could I trouble you to measure yours? She's elderly and shy and this is a lot of strain on her, and I'd rather not get her excited about yet another vehicle only to trek to a dealer, get someone to drive to her house, and find that it's way too large, as she's done with several already. Her current candidate is a Kia Rio, simply because it'll fit. Nobody is thrilled with that, and money isn't the issue for once; please help me save her from an econobox! Thanks in advance. |

Thanks! That's just over 1900mm, so it would probably have worked.
Alas, now she's backing away, saying it's "too much car". Econobox (Kia Rio) looks like what she'll settle for. Her business, her money... |

If you're still not sold...maybe a VW brand? VW Taos/Tiguan (72 inches wide)? I don't know if they sell Skoda or Seat in Canada but they'd also be worth a look. Build quality is A-Tier but not luxury. |
