We have a new car on order in the queue, but with no allocation yet. Dealer says they will make it right and us whole. Eventually. They may also be waiting to see if the Eucalyptus trim can sent to them and if so, they'll swap it for the wrong trim. I'm hoping for the new car to come in first though.

The standard tank is 45 litres. The optional larger tank is 54 litres.

BMW seem to have a policy of reducing the size of the standard tank where some kind of hybrid assistance is fitted. I guess it is all about reducing weight and therefore emissions to meet Euro fleet emission average targets?

and if you add mineral white, its 43% (almost half)

considering the other "free" color of black is "0" so far,
I am assuming white is just a popular color...

Very surprised that white(both versions) is so popular.

I'm puzzled by the "0" for Jet Black as well. Although that may explain why most of the available X1 in dealer inventory that I've see are all Jet Black. People just want colors that stand out?

My last 9 cars/suvs have all been bright silver(except a black Navigator). I'm going with silver again... not sure why.... even my friends once asked me "are you in some kind of cult that only allows silver cars?"

I know some of my friends only buy white cars because they say it's much safer for night driving and scratches are hard to see.

one of these days, I'm going to get the courage and buy a car with fun color again. The last car that I owned with "fun" color was my bright yellow Mercedes SLK many years ago... after that, it has been silver, silver, silver.... perhaps I'll get a nice orange or neon green car someday...

I am also surprised (and heartened ) by the popularity of white.

If satin chrome exterior trim was an option on the M Sport in the UK I would have been tempted to go for Jet Black instead of Alpine White.

satin chrome trim is also not an option for M Sport in the US.

which is why I have already asked the parts department about ordering all 10 pieces of satin trim for the windows for my silver M Sport. I was told that none could be ordered at this time, but should be available in a couple of months. That's perfect timing, since my X1 won't be here for another couple of months anyway. I will wait until the X1 gets here to see if I can live with the black trim. If not, they quoted me $579 for all 10 pieces(5 on each side), after a 15% discount.

strangely, BMW France does allow ordering M Sport with satin finish trim around the windows.(see below)

Interesting that white is such a popular color on the X1. Driving around here in Honolulu, I don't see many BMW SUV's in white, most are usually black, silver, or gray. Though, the only U11 X1 I've seen on the road so far was Alpine White.

A bodyshop owner friend of mine told me quite the opposite.

He explained that the formulae for white paints typically have very small amounts of black and yellow pigments and as such it is extremely difficult to get the mix spot on unless you are mixing a very large quantity of paint.

Just returned home with an Alpine White X1 (Shadowline, M Sport and Premium Packages) and she was already turning heads. Loving the new car, except for the fact that it arrived with a "Replace Battery" light showing up...weird.
