That's not right, Expressive is quite noticeable under acceleration, standard is still there but quieter.

Ever prod of the throttle has a distinct sound.

This video is for an iX but the sounds in the X1 PHEV are similar but far quieter and less prominent but the overall sounds is pretty much the same as these.

Are you sure you have Iconic Sounds enabled in settings? I have mine disabled as they do my head in😂

Hi guys,

I have an update from myBMW saying "new remote software upgrade". Ready to be installed. In the app it appears "downloaded" done, "uploaded" (to the car) done, just missing the step number 3), "install".

When it first appeared, I was able to select it from the main menu (along with my profile picture when turning off the car); however, i could not do it at that moment, and now, i cant find anywhere in the car, how to procede with the update. Could you guys help me out please?

update version available: 07/2023.53 (portugal)

ps: the car is going to bmw about the iconic sounds, which are not working in mine.

If you go into settings menu I think about half way down it says remote update and in there it will tell you where it's up to.

Easiest way to do it is connect the phone to the car and let it update the car and then when it starts just close it and lock it and leave it to update itself you don't need to be in it. We have done ours and it was a faultless update.

By the way if you need to look at the manual you can do that from the BMW app there is a link to the other BMW Manuals app. This is searchable and has all sorts of guides in it that are useful.

I have a PHEV question. My 25e is on order and whilst waiting I have been wondering what happens on a long run. If, say, the route is a few hundred miles with a city at the start and finish and a motorway in between and the sat nav programmed for the route, would the car prioritise battery power for the city start, use petrol for the motorway and save some battery capacity for the end of the run in the city?

That's how BMW say it works

I does do that but it depends if you want to manage some of it yourself. We have found that we have switched off the EV element on the motorways ourself and then turned it back on at the end. The reason being it is only calculating one part of the journey there and we want to get back efficiently as well. On the return leg we do tend to then let the car do its thing and it does they do as BMW suggests.

It comes up on the screen if you have the live info on using Electric at end of journey or something like that.

That's what I do too. Though I have seen that myBMW is now able to add "intermediate destinations". Maybe we can use this to workaround and create a "go-and-return" route.

I spent 15minutes on the freaking car.. i cant find it. Could anyone send me a picture please, on how to procede with the remote upgrade?

mybmw app: https://share.cleanshot.com/hdjkWCzb

"Follow the instructions on your BMW

Uploading to your BMW X1 xDrive30e is complete
successfully. Follow the installation instructions
displayed on the in-vehicle control screen. A
installation can only be carried out when the vehicle

What I had to do was take the car for a drive for about 35-40 minutes whilst the update was verified then when it had finished verifying the car will inform you that the installation will happen when you stop.

I downloaded it to the app and connected to the car when she got back and then uploaded it. Approved the update in the screen in the car, locked it and walked away. The app then picked the car had updated.

Mine notified me on the app and I started to download it but when I got in the car it had already started downloading in the iDrive so I followed the instructions on the iDrive.

We had a car & coffee meeting at a local airstrip and together with a friend decided to use the opertunity while the Porsches and the other true cars are racing to try and have a run for fun .

F30 335i (400bhp tuned) vs our humble X1 30e

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EED...usp=drive_link

the b58 is a monster i used to own one and of course the el drive and the xdrive at this amount of bhp really have a good start.

The video is recorded from the 360 cameras of the car i hope you can access it.

Its exactly 402m 1/4 mile and my terminal speed was about 174 km/h or 108 mph

After the upgrade downloaded, it took a couple drives before the car told me it was ready to install. Also I no longer see a notice for recall 0061500700 anywhere in car anymore.

That X1 30e can freaking move! What was the state of charge when you raced?

do you guys charge the battery up to 100% or rather 90% on regular basis?
I know for example with a Tesla it is advised to only charge up to 80 or 90% on daily/regular basis and only (a few times a year, not every week or so) charge to 100% when you are planning for a long trip.
