Quick question… does anyone have Drive Recorder in iDrive 9? My car was specified with it but there’s no app. Just wondering if I’m alone on that (the car has the technology plus pack that mentions it).

I was told it is going to part of a November update, but seeing how well the July update rollout went, I’m not holding my breath. That was supposed to include the satnav augmented view, but the was no mention of that I. The release notes. The update then proceeded to brick people cars so it looks like BMW have pulled it.

Oh no, others have mentioned similar that the concern with the way BMW has positioned ID9 is that more things come behind a pay wall. Things like traffic flow data that has been standard on BMWs for years now appeared from the press release to be a chargeable extra.
Would be great to understand for those with ID9 what they are getting. For the UK as you state it should match ID8 until at least November deliveries when I suspect the global roll out change things a little I suspect. |

Has anyone with ID9 already received a software update? I have seen many reports of remote updates recently, but we are still on 03/2023.55.
Hoping for an update that sorts our Android Auto Issues. |

There is a new version out for the car but some cars got bricked needing a complete recovery due to failure. Others it’s been fine with no problems, but it looks like BMW has pulled the release for now and I suspect it will be fixed and then released again soon.

My car was bricked but when I got it back it was on 07/2023.58… it has a new “Art” mode and a few tweaks but nothing major… no sign of Drive Recorder or Augmented View.

That's a shame, surely if they are things that are listed as standard spec but they haven't delivered there is a conversation to be had with the dealer. They told most people that have asked so far they will be there in the next update but obviously not.
Augmented view can be great at times, not amazing but well worth having especially if you are going through areas you don't know well often. |

Thanks MontyB1… interesting.
BMW should provide dealers with a high-level roadmap for the features not yet ready, even at a quarterly level… Right now, they’ve promised something, been paid for it and then not delivered it and just stayed quiet when asked. Not the best customer service approach. |

Anyone having issues with Carplay in their m35i? The main issues I have are that the carplay disconnects with phone calls and loses connection to phone and also every few minutes the music streaming through spotify will stutter for a few seconds

We have this exact issue among a number of other ID9 issues in our M35i. Taking it to the dealer soon to document it in the first month of ownership, but expect it will not be fixed until software patch is released.

Same… drives me nuts. Doubt it’s the phone too my 2018 m2 CarPlay works flawlessly and that’s wireless as well
